I am proud to be a fourth-generation caretaker of this farm and surrounding acreage.  My great-grandfather purchased this land in 1921 and since then, my family has been farming the best way that we knew how.  For the last 30 years, that has meant a divergence from traditional farming practices to focus on regenerative farming-- farming that focuses on enriching the health of the soil and the animals instead of depleting it. On our farm, we raise beef, lamb, pigs and chickens and they all live out on pasture.  In our farm store we sell meat, eggs, and raw, all-grass dairy products like milk, butter, cheese, kefir, and yogurt.  Our customers drive from all parts of central Kansas to shop at Jako Farm because our food is different than food in the grocery store.  We call it JakoPure food. Not only do we share our life-giving, gut-restoring food with others, but we want to share the experience of our farm, too.  That's why we've started hosting guests on hipcamp so that you can truly experience what's special about our farm.  Each location provides a unique perspective on our farm, and you'll engage a different part of our story at each place.  But wherever you stake your temporary claim at Jako Farm, we hope you experience the peace and rest that we know and love. Learn more about this land: Jako Farm is a working regenerative farm, and this campsite provides an easy view of all that goes on here. The cows and sheep will graze near by while the chickens scratch in the distance.  You'll see the farmers moving the animals to new pasture and the llama playing games with the sheep.  If you're up at sunrise, you'll see Ken bringing the cows up to the barn for milking (April through November).   Its pretty quiet here, except for the subtle noises of wildlife.  (Fair warning:  if you're in a tent, you will probably hear the milking machine kick on at 6:30am.)  We're also proud to be a smell-free farm because all animals live out on pasture.   There are killer sunrises and sunsets here.  If you're lucky, you'll also see our resident bald eagle pair soaring through the sky. A bathroom with shower is available for your use in the barn nearby. Please be respectful of farm operations, although we're always open to answering questions if you see us around. Beside the silo at Jako Farm
Great spot and friendly hosts
Camping beside the silo was great and Ken and July, Daniel’s parents, who live in the house nearby are very kind and welcoming. Ken let us get up early to watch him milk the cows one morning and they were so patient with our many questions. The gal Adrienne who works on the farm taught us about chickens and gave us a ride down to the pigs and the trail to the river. And grabbing farm fresh dairy and meat from the store to eat and take home was an excellent bonus. Highly recommend! Only thing to be aware of is that milking happens at the barn nearby around 6:30am and the pumps are somewhat loud. I noticed it and went back to sleep but just fyi. We would absolutely stay here again on a future visit.

Father/son camping.
This was my first time using Hipcamp and I was very pleased with the experience. My son and I loved staying here and spent a lot of time exploring the beautiful property. It was very quiet and private which is exactly what we were looking for on Labor Day Weekend. Daniel was a great host and welcoming. This is a great option and I hope to be back here one day.

Nice farm setting, great for kiddos
Beautiful farm, hosts were kind and accommodating. Having the restroom and shower close by was a plus with little ones. Both grandsons reported they liked, 1. The farm animals, and 2. The play area and sandbox.

An ideal location, the sunset and sunrise vistas are amazing as well as the dark sky nights. The farm itself is everything that is wondrous about the Kansas heartland.

Hidden treasure close to Hutchinson
Everything was better than expected. Beautiful place, Daniel came out and introduced himself and gave us a tour of his family store. Jingle gym for my son. Skyline spectacular. Clean bathroom and electrical hookup. Trees. We put up 2 hammocks and cooked hotdogs over the campfire. 5 stars.
