Awesome glamping - 30 min from ATL
Dave’s cabin is amazing, better than the pictures!
It quiet, private, and tucked into the woods. I woke up each morning to the soft glow of the sun coming through the translucent roof. There was a rustic trail down by the creek, just below the cabin, where I did a little hike, bird watching, and saw a deer. At night, I sat by the fire and watched the lightning bugs.
The deck is all set up with chairs, hammocks, grills, and a firepit. It was the perfect place to unwind.
The cabin was comfortable and had everything I needed - kitchen, bathroom, etc. and more - AC, TV, and WiFi.
The location was awesome. One day I drove an hour to Talladega National Forest, which is beautiful, the next day 30 minutes to the convention center in Atlanta.
Dave couldn't be a better host. My flight was delayed by 8 hours. I didn't get in until 3am so I had groceries delivered. When I arrived, Dave had put them all away for me. He also had a tiki torch lit on the deck for me to find my way AND left out a glass and bottle of bourbon. The next night, I got back late from Alabama to find he'd left out a pile of kindling so I could build a fire.
Dave's house was a few hundred yards away from the cabin, just up and over a little hill. He was close enough to be available, but far enough away that the cabin was totally private, both in sight and sound.
I've stayed in cabins and off-grid places all over North and South America. Dave's a great host, and his place is a gem.
