The host was nice and helpful; however, if they continue operating this way, they need a more accurate description— the bathroom was inside the host’s house, and unfortunately, it was filthy. In addition, it had been raining for a couple of days (I know, beyond the host’s control) so the host had to flush for you, as the septic tank appeared to be having issues. We did not have clear directions as to where in the property we were supposed to camp (we still don’t know) but knowing we had two vehicles coming, there was only a pad for one, since the other was taken up by one of their vehicles. (We did get stuck in the mud, but the host was prepared with tools to help get our SUV out.) We understand that the person who booked us had a family emergency, and despite that he was quick to respond to our questions; but between the lack of instructions, no warning about the site’s swampy conditions, and camping in the house’s backyard area, it was an awkward experience to say the least. The host tried his best to be accommodating, but we feel they are not ready to host a group yet.
