Different, fun, secure & welcoming
We sure enjoyed our stay at Mark’s Equine Center Hipcamp! We chose this Hipcamp for its proximity to family in Lafayette & Longmont. It worked great for us that way. We look forward to our next visit.
Mark was most accommodating to us in getting electricity to our site. Just to set your expectations, note that this IS an equine facility, so the grounds are dusty as is typical in such an environment. We laid out a large-ish astroturf mat to keep our dog from carrying dust and chaff into our camper. Mark kindly allowed us to invite family to stop by for an evening visit. They were asked to sign a waiver, as we had done on arrival, which is customary in any horse facility. The horses all looked well-cared for, which as horse lovers meant much to us. The barns were busy with equine activity. Little goats in a nice little pen with shade and access to a creek added to the general sense of cheer. We loved the song of chorus frogs in the nearby canal as red-winged black birds displayed and called from the bushes. Road noise was at a minimum—this was a remarkably quiet location. Another priority of ours was security, as we needed to drop off our little Airstream Basecamp and have freedom to come and go with just our car. Mark’s electronic security gate was thus reassuring. Another Hipcamp nearby claims electronic gate security—but on a recent stay there we found the gates left gaping wide; it bothered us to have to leave our trailer so exposed. Mark’s is our better option by far.
