As much a nature blind as a dwelling, the yurt is located on 5 peaceful acres of mixed oak and madrone woodland with a filtered view of the Sierra foothills, a claw foot bath tub under the stars and much more. Light and airy with both propane and wood heat, the well-designed interior features a spacious kitchen, a comfy queen bed and a full bathroom. The kitchen is stocked for a cook with quality cooking equipment and is supplied with oils, sauces and spices. Tranquil and rustic, but with WiFi and a small streaming set-up, there are also games and plenty of good books. A perfect anytime retreat! THE AREA RiverSea East is located on the San Juan Ridge, an area near Nevada City and Grass Valley that extends about 24 miles between the south and middle forks of the Yuba River. A small Nevada County community far removed from town, modern day North San Juan is part hippie, part isolationist, part new age and part conservative.It's only a 20 minute drive from downtown Nevada City, but since you have to drive up and down the heavily forested, windy river-canyon road, it feels rather remote. When you get there, it consists of less than ten businesses scattered around the mountains, a bushel of dreadlocked hippies, a bunch of pot farms, a vineyard, and LOTS of empty, undeveloped wood, making North San Juan a really beautiful place, surrounded, as it is, by forested mountains and rivers. North San Juan is a great place to explore. There's all kinds of hidden spots, neat places to go, river access with good swimming holes and little stores and cafes. This area is spotted with little organic farms, beautiful little houses and the occasional run-down looking trailer.Farm, house OR trailer, because North San Juan and the Ridge are so sparsely populated, every residence seems to have acres of property that the people are free to plant, enjoy or neglect at will. OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF PETS: Your well-behaved dog is welcome with advanced permission and agreement to our pet policy for an additional $10.00 per night. As this is a wilderness area with abundant wildlife, do not let your dog wander outside at night unattended. NEVER leave your dog unattended at the yurt or let them roam unleashed in the woods. Neighbors will report dogs who bark incessantly. PARTIES and extra visitors are not allowed. This is an extreme fire danger area. No open fires or flames of any kind The wood stove is not to be used May through October SMOKING AND FIRE DANGER: There is absolutely no smoking permitted inside any of the structures. Residents are on high alert regarding wildfires and during fire season folks readily report any sign of smoke to the authorities. (And don’t place anything on top of propane heater.)

The yurt does not have garbage service. (We do have a supply of extra garbage bags to help you "pack it out". If you smoke outside, please extinguish butts in water and dispose of them in the main trash bin.

We have been to the Yuba Yurt twice now and have had an excellent experience both times! The yurt feels super secluded and the bathtub outside gets hotter water than at my own house. The nature around the yurt is absolutely gorgeous, especially with all of the manzanita. The full kitchen is super convenient for if you don't leave the yurt but still want home cooked food. We first went for new years of 2022 right after a snowstorm. The fireplace in the yurt kept us warm enough we didn't even notice the few inches of snow outside. Our most recent trip earlier this January had beautiful weather and it was great to be able to explore the nearby hiking trails. Both Nevada city and grass valley both have excellent food as well. Tuscany gardens and brewhause both were great restaurants and treated my partner and I great for her birthday. All in all we've loved coming to the yurt both times and definitely plan to return again.

This is our second stay at the yurt, but our first stay in the winter-- loved it. The wood-burning stove was a hit, and kept the space warm and festive.

Quiet reprieve in nature

We loved the yurt and the wood burning stove. Everything we needed was there. Plenty of instructions so you can feel fully self-sufficienct as you're definitely out there. Bed was comfortable, shower was hot, and our dog enjoyed the space, too.

The surrounding property was peaceful and the space was very beautiful. There was clearly a lot of thought and organization put into the setup. The informational binders had local history, food recommendations and detailed directions to local swimming holes. The outdoor bathtub was a treat! We slept well, cooked some delicious meals, ate outside while listening to thunder in the distance. We would definitely recommend and will visit again. Thank you so much!

I have to admit, my partner and I fell in love with the yurt-and the location! The yurt was cozy, had was very well-stocked with kitchen supplies. The outdoor tub was stellar even in mid-August, it was totally usable and relaxing. The location is honestly pretty great, there is cell service and its close to local haunts like Mother Truckers (6 min drive), Ananda deli (7 min), and the South Yuba river. We'll definitely be coming back to enjoy again!
