Anahata Lake offers a serene and picturesque camping experience with its tranquil surroundings and close proximity to Murphys, California. Campers appreciate the clear directions and easy access to the campsite, which is well-maintained and provides amenities like an outdoor shower and compost toilet. Many visitors have enjoyed the peaceful vibe, wildlife sightings, and stargazing opportunities. However, some reviews mention issues with the lake's water level during droughts and concerns about cleanliness and maintenance in certain areas.
Nice quiet place close to Murphys and lots of hiking close by. I had the place to my self. Peaceful by the lake and if you want to see the sunset you can walk a little up the hill. Clean shower and compost toilet was on site.
Chris was a kind and considerate host. Great communication throughout the process. The spot was beautiful although it seemed we were unable to park our vehicle right up to the spot. If you don’t mind hauling your stuff across a cute little foot bridge, spot #2 is *chefs kiss*
Perfect location so close to moaning caverns, Angel’s Camp, and Murphys. I have tried camping with my boys before, and they hated it due to loud noise and people so close to our campsite. This place was perfect. They loved every second of it. It is quiet, peaceful, and spacious. Loved hearing the frogs at night and the boats for the pond were a highlight for sure. Camp host was welcoming and able to answer all of our questions. Would definitely recommend for people looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing.
Easy to find with directions provided. Nice flat area for parking camper or setting up a tent, with view of the lake (site 1). I enjoyed hearing the geese, and frogs, and rain over night.
Chris provided easy to follow directions. The camp felt welcoming, private, and spacious. Having a view of the lake was a nice feature. The stars at night were beautiful.
My fiancée and I loved the location. Chris’ land is beautiful and she’s an absolute gem - she greeted us with some fresh produce that was absolutely amazing. unfortunately, we were unable to stay the full time due to weather conditions, but absolutely will stay again!
