80 acres of pristine ranch property filled with wildlife and a large fishing pond. Great hiking, fly fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking or canoeing. Close to recreational activities of all kinds. Very private and quiet!
We had a lovely fall weekend at Karen's ranch. It was very peaceful with sunrise over the pond, sunset over the vines. We did a little fishing, little walking on trails around the property and generally just relaxed and enjoyed the quiet. Wine tasting was great, over and above our expectations, we had a very nice evening with Karen and her ranch hands.
Plenty of space on Le Canard site, it's tucked away and mostly hidden from the house and barn. I'm sure we'll be back! Thanks for hosting us!
Karen was awesome! She could not have been a better host, gracious and kind, understanding and flexible. We loved being there and we hope to go back. We caught two fish, thinking it was the same fish. The lake is fun and scenic.
A friend and I booked this site because we wanted to fly fish. We looked at the website and texted with the hosts, and on this basis felt confident there would be sufficient water to cover for a 2 night 3 day stay. When we arrived, the pond was much smaller than photos indicated, with a minimum of access along the banks. We decided not to stay, texted and talked with the hosts, who refused to refund our money.
Karen and Claire have become like family for us. Not only do we like to camp off the beaten path, we love to spend time with quality people… so this place ticks all the boxes. The wine… is out of this world as well.
Highly recommended!
Friendliest & most accommodating hosts ever. Their lake is lovely, we got there during a heat wave so mostly we hid during the day, but at night there are silent horse visitors. How often do you get that?
We’d been camping alone for two weeks and they were our last stop…we probably commandeered way too much of their time. We had dinner with them the first night. We made lasagna and they provided wine!
I wanted to go camping without having to set up a tent, or sleep on an air mattress, and this was perfect! Camping in the sheep wagon was amazing! Not only is it cute, it is spacious and comfortable. I loved waking up and walking out right next to the pond. We caught plenty of bass. It’s very quiet, relaxing, and peaceful.
