Living near the Des Moines metro, Ledges is one of the closest parks that offers you that, "I can't really be in Iowa still" feeling. Day hiking, exploring, and walking the creeks through the canyons all offer emense joy and hours of fulfillment. I recommend the hike in camp sites, as they give you much more space to call your own, and not feel like you're camping on top of other campers. Ledges is definitely my go-to park and I highly recommend it!
