Primitive camping. Pitch your tent in our dense, mixed timber, woods, with a canopy of leaves overhead. Campsite has a fire ring and all the firewood you can gather from the woods. I’ll provide firewood for your first campfire. About 2’x2’x2’ bundle. There are a few trees that are large enough to support a hammock. Parking is at the main house about 150’ walk from campsite. You can park closer if you choose but it is a mild, downhill, slope and when the grass is wet it is reallllly slippery. I would only recommend parkIng close if you I have a 4x4. The campsite is behind some heavy undergrowth and trees so even though it is close to the main house you will have privacy. I have seen a lot of wildlife on the property e.g. bunnies, deer, box turtles, birds, and black snakes. I have not seen any venomous snakes. Please do not touch or otherwise disturb any wildlife. I haven’t seen any poison ivy, but there are green briar brambles here and there. There is a water faucet on the back of the main house that is filtered well water. Please don’t waste. Campsite is 45 minutes from Richmond and Fredericksburg with all their historical sites. 20 minutes from Tappahannock and Bowling Green for supplies or fuel. Campsite is not perfectly flat but there are flat areas where you can pitch a tent. I have sprayed the area with non-toxic, mint oil that is designed to repel ticks, and I have Tougher Than Tom mosquito traps hanging in the trees. But it’s Virginia so there are still some bugs around. Bring your bug repellent/bug spray. There is virtually zero cell service here. You have to drive 5 minutes down the road to get decent cell signal. We’ve tried Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T. We have a booster in our house and signal is still very tenuous. We are a friendly couple but we are somewhat shy and private. If we see you we will smile and wave, but we won’t engage much if we can avoid it. We like nature but we are more indoor people than outdoor, but it would please us if outdoorsy people want to enjoy our property. This site is gorgeous and peaceful. It’s always much cooler under the trees than out in the open. It feels really nice.Primitive camping. Pitch your tent in our dense, mixed timber, woods, with a canopy of leaves overhead. Liked it so much the first time I had to make my way back to experience it once again and like the first time it did not disappoint. Had another great night! It’s not the 4 seasons but I could spend all four seasons camping there😀Beautiful woods plus the fall colors. The hosts will greet you with a smile. The first night I stayed there I did not have any problems with cell service. This time around it was spotty but I could still use it but it was buffering sometimes but hey that’s better than nothing. Would stay there again with no hesitation what so ever. I really enjoy my self there! Great Camp glad I found the place!

Beautiful piece of wooded property
Tent
Was greeted with a warm greeting by hosts. Very nice friendly couple with a beautiful piece of property! Camping area was a short distance from where I park my car 30 yards at the most. Was able to make a couple trips back to my car to the camping area with no problems. Camping area was large with a beautiful mixture of both young and old growth. Plenty of flat space to pitch a couple tents. I ended up using my hammock. Area had a couple out door chairs a love seat with a coffee table that I appreciated. I arrived right before dark so I didn’t explore property too much. I look forward to doing so in the future. Quiet night and ended up watching a couple movies on YouTube with my phone. Having a nice warm fire and drinking tea. Nothing but the beautiful sounds of the outdoors even heard a couple of owls through out the night. Very relaxing and felt comfortable like I was in my own living room at home. Was offered the use of water on sight! I had a lovely time would stay again in a heart beat. Very nice area with a nice friendly Couple! I give it a 10/10 for me👍😀Really look forward to staying there again! Highly recommend!
