Discover the most magical spots to pitch your tent or park your rig on your next Ball Mountain Lake adventure.
Discover the scenic beauty and outdoor adventures at Ball Mountain Lake.
Ball Mountain Lake brings you the peace and beauty of open space and panoramic views, matched with the excitement of outdoor activity. With 10 miles of trails, visitors can enjoy the neighboring wilderness in the spring and summer and then again in the snow-packed winter. The lake itself brings fisherman and photographers--not to mention avid water-side picnickers. But, perhaps the most exciting attraction is during the annual spring and fall water release weekends from the Ball Mountain Dam when the class II-IV rapids with 1 to 2 foot drops come into play.
The best time to visit Ball Mountain Lake is from the third Saturday in May through Columbus Day, when the dam access road and campgrounds are fully operational. Winter offers a tranquil, snowy landscape for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, but be mindful of limited access and services.
