You select the space you where you wish to set up camp. The entrance off the dirt road is tricky for large rigs or trailers more than 35' may not have easy access. Our sites offer potable water, a shower, picnic tables, a toilet, wifi, trash disposal, space for campfires, and we are pet friendly! We can accommodate tents, RVs, and trailers. Our guests love staying here: "Camping at Gayle’s property was an amazing experience. We shared the field with 3 other campers but there was still plenty of room between sites. Land is flat and has fire pit spaces and BBQ grills. Outdoor shower was appreciated even though we didn’t use it & it was great to have the port-o-potty on site. The best part was getting to see the animals!"

Conductor's Corner Campsites

3 sites · RVs1 acre · Folkston, GA
Call us bias, but there’s nothing better than small town life. When the "blue roof cottage by the tracks" (yes, it used to have a unique blue roof) hit the market in early 2021, we knew it had to be ours! We purchased it & flipped it into a vacation home for guests of Folkston .. and The Conductor's Corner was born. Because we are also avid RV'ers, we thought what better way to finish off our corner than to add a few first-class RV sites to accommodate the camping community. We hope you enjoy your stay on our corner! In a small town in the south, where the Okefenokee Swamp runs deep and railfans thrive, the Conductor’s Corner stands out. The Conductor’s Corner features 3 premium RV sites directly on the rail lines of the Folkston Funnel. This railfan's dream neighbors the Folkston Railfan Train Platform. The spacious concrete pads are perfect for a night of watching trains under the stars. 20x50 concrete pads with 30/50 amp power, water, sewer, Wifi & picnic tables. A quick 3 minute walk from the Conductor’s Corner will lead to the heart of Main Street where visitors will find a plethora of hidden treasures: coffee shops, boutiques, local eateries, the Train Museum and so much more. Guests could spend a day exploring the habitats and waterways of the Okefenokee Swamp or take a short drive to neighboring communities such as Cumberland Island, Savannah, Golden Isles or Amelia Island or Jacksonville in Florida. All the comforts of home and the utmost southern hospitality are included in your stay on our corner. The Conductor's Corner also includes a vacation cottage available for rent (sleeps 6).

The best camping near Big Talbot Island State Park guide

Overview

About

For those campers yearning for a unique experience, a Big Talbot Island State Park camping trip is your answer. Located on one of Northeast Florida's distinct sea islands, this state park is more than just a camping spot; it's a haven for nature enthusiasts. Whether you're an avid bird-watcher, a passionate photographer, or simply someone who appreciates the serenity of nature, Big Talbot Island offers something for everyone.

Hike your way through diverse island habitats. The Blackrock Trail will lead you straight to the shoreline, while the Big Pine Trail introduces you to the expansive marsh. For those who love the dense greenery of forests, the Old Kings Highway and Jones Cut routes through the maritime forest are a must-visit.

Water enthusiasts, rejoice! Launch a boat from the island's north end to explore the salt marsh or try your hand at fishing. If kayaking is more your style, reserve a spot with Kayak Amelia for a guided paddle tour. It's an experience you won't want to miss.

But that's not all. Make a pit stop at the bluffs for a delightful picnic overlooking the water. And if you're in the mood for something truly unique, Boneyard Beach awaits. Here, the salt-washed skeletons of live oak and cedar trees paint a hauntingly beautiful picture against the backdrop of the shore.

Lastly, for those who prefer wheels to feet, the 3.9-mile off-road paved multi-use Timucuan Trail is perfect. Running parallel to A1A, it offers splendid views of Spoonbill Pond. And as you journey, take a moment to learn from the interpretive panels about the park's rich natural and cultural resources. If you're looking for an outdoor adventure that's both enriching and exciting, camping near Big Talbot Island State Park is the answer.

When to go
