The Khohay Farm

3 sites · Lodging, Tents30 acres · Buckley, WA
Nestled at the foothills of Mount Rainier, we are a serene farm only 45 miles away from Seattle, 36 min drive away from the Mt Rainier Carbon River entrance, 1 hour from the Crystal Mountain Resort, 1 hour 30 minutes from the Sunrise Visitor Center. I live here with my partner Khohay who now takes care of his family farm which used to be his late aunts Soma Institute of Structural Integration school (now located on Whidbey Island). We are constantly doing projects around the property to restore, improve and preserve the beauty that it has to offer and would love to share it with other people as we go! SUMMER UPDATES: Hello Hipcampers! Some of our trees are starting to fruit so feel free to help yourself, we can’t keep up eating it all! There is a ton of blackberries starting to ripen too in the fields, the peach tree and some plum trees scattered around, waiting on the apples and pears. If you can identify it, you can eat it. :) We also added several fun group activity games to the farm so don’t be shy, please feel free to use the volleyball/badminton net/equipment and cornhole boards. AMENITIES/THINGS TO DO: -There is a communal bunkhouse on property available to all guests with a flushable toilet and a hot water shower. It also includes a kitchenette and we welcome you to use any of the kitchen/cookware and appliances available not limited to but including a Mr. Coffee Expresso and Cappuccino Coffee Maker, toaster, microwave, Instant Pot Duo Crisp 11-in-1 (8 Quart), cooktop, outdoor propane oven, traeger for grilling and smoking etc. Our 2 French Bulldogs also stay in this building but they love humans and all the attention you can give them! -We have a wellness yurt on site with a Somassage therapy room (package add-on session available to purchase during your stay, message me for any questions or details if interested). You are also welcome to use the gym in the yurt whether it be for early morning yoga session on the mats or punching it out on one of our punching bags (included in base price, not an add-on). -There is an infrared sauna that can sit up to 3 people located next to the yurt as an add-on. -You are welcome to wander around the entire property and grab fruit daily from the trees when in season or have us get you farm fresh eggs from the coop to eat for breakfast. Just let us know ahead of time and we can have it ready for you the next morning. -Say hello to the animals (sheep, goats, chickens, cats and dogs) or go for a walk/run around the countryside roads with walking/running/biking adventures available to you along the beautiful and paved Foothills Trail extending 21 miles from Buckley to Puyallup. We have bike rentals. -Communal fire pit area with picnic table and chairs available when fire ban is not in effect. We sell a milkcrate full of wood for $10 if needed. -WIFI is available closer to the communal area. LOCATION: 2 miles from downtown Buckley with Blue Max Meats and the Rainier Fresh Country Store for a quick trip down the road for groceries and less than 15 minute drive to Enumclaw with more restaurant options available and Bonney Lake also 15 minutes away with Target, Costco, Fred Meyers etc. We will happily point you out to our favorite places to eat and grab coffee around here, just ask! REQUIREMENTS: -Please NO shoes or smoking allowed in any of the indoor/enclosed buildings including the tiny house/sauna/yurt/bunkhouse. -Please donate your food scraps in a container and we can give it to the chickens in the morning, do not throw any food in the trash.

Coffee Creek Community & Gardens

4 sites · Lodging11 acres · Centralia, WA
Coffee Creek is an intentional community and working farm on the north side of Centralia, Washington. While our 11 acres feels very secluded, we are just 3 miles from historic downtown and 10 minutes from the freeway and shopping. An accessible oasis! There is a park with swimming, fishing and hiking along the Skookumchuck river within a mile of the farm, in addition to the natural beauty found right here at home. We enjoy bird watching, exploring our forest, and relaxing around a fire when we aren't working on the farm. Seasonal Strawberries and pastured poultry are our specialties, and we offer a wide variety of veggies and fruits. Farm fresh eggs are almost always available and we have organic meats to purchase and grill.

Linford-Shire on Bainbridge

1 site · Lodging3 acres · Bainbridge Island, WA
This special piece of land is over 3 acres and was one of the famous strawberry farms on beautiful Bainbridge island. West facing and full sun, this property is home to wildlife including bats, owls, coyotes, eagles, osprey, red winged blackbirds and deer.  Bordering a local 2 lane highway, the property has stunning territorial views of Meigs park.   Very private area where you have the run of the bottom portion of our property.  The Hobbit house was built by our family as a 5th grade project for our daughter Rose and her friends.  Now we have converted the cozy living space to glamping, to pay for her college in Worcester Massachusets! “In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.”-J.R.R. Tolkien You don’t have to go to New Zealand to stay in a hobbit house! Hand-built by our family, this cozy in-hill cabin located in the lower area of our property is something right out of a Tolkien novel. Very LGBTQ+ And BIPOC friendly. This one room Hobbit Hole has everything in it's  7.5x15.5' (cozy): Comfy convertible bed/couch complete with linens, a small table with 2 chairs for playing games and eating, puzzles, games, snacks, hot water kettle, coffee maker, bluetooth speaker, electric fireplace, books, sketchpad with colored pencils, and more!  A rustic wooden floor (with some paint splatters) and a braided rug give you a feeling of comfort and home.  On site we have a private portable bathroom complete with hand-washing station, and an outside combination fire pit and charcoal barbecue with a grill top and  s’mores sticks provided so you can cook over a wood fire or coals!  And an outdoor table and chairs that are super comfortable! The house itself is heated, insulated, and has working electricity/outlets for computer or phone charger.  Clean bedding and pillows provided, washed in fragrance-free detergent between each guest.  We provide a full water jug with spigot, hot water kettle, teapot, assorted teas, an empty growler to use, 2 pint glasses and 2 mugs.   Private area of the yard with plenty of room to relax.  We have a disc golf goal and discs to use as well. Firewood is available for purchase onsite for $10/milk crate full. This comes with a kindling kit. Territorial views of the tree line and sunset views to die for! We are located near Meigs Park as well as a 10-minute walk from Manitou beach and an easy bike ride to the ferry that goes to Seattle!  2 miles from the Grand Forest and 3 miles from Battle Point park.  We are exactly 3 miles from the ferry terminal in a convenient mid-island location. NEED TO KNOW (managing expectations):A note on the bathroom: the hobbit hole is small and will not fit a bathroom or plumbing. Your nearby private portable restroom is cleaned thoroughly between each guest and serviced (pumped out) weekly.  We consider our listing to be “glamping”. Also our property borders a local 2 lane highway and you can expect road noise mostly during the day and evening.  While it is a private setting you can expect to hear the road.   Weekends and evenings it is quieter, and when the door is closed it is quiet.   The Hobbit House is suitable for 2 guests or 2 adults and a small child that can share the bed.  The bed is a queen size, and we can't allow sleeping on the floor as the door opens inwards and is a safety concern.   However, additional guests are welcome to bring a tent and camp outside, for $20/tent, up to 6 additional guests or 2 tents, whichever is smaller.  Let me know when you are booking that you'd like to bring additional guests and we will adjust the costs accordingly.  WANT TO SEE MORE? We are on Instagram @ hobbithouse98110 and there are videos of the space to give you a solid look at what is in the space. On you tube we have a nice video giving a tour of the property and the hobbit hole.   Look for "Hobbit House Bainbridge Island". We look forward to hosting you!

Olalla Flower Farm Glamping

1 site · Lodging5 acres · Olalla, WA
Come stay in our beautiful safari tent and experience our flower farm and old-growth Maple Forest. Located in the heart of Olalla near the Colvos Passage waterway, just a short ferry ride from West Seattle, 20 minutes from Tacoma, and near the quaint town of Gig Harbor. **Just upgraded to two queen sized memory foam beds!! Lovely 100% cotton sheets and cozy blankets will keep you nice and comfy on those cool nights. Two extra twin sized cots are available in the "Extras" section of the listing. The cots fit in the tent with the beds too, so there is plenty of room for all four.** Our beautiful camping spot offers serene privacy and many comforts. You will feel very secluded on our 5 acre property. Our parcel is partially wooded and partially cleared for our flower farm. But it adjoins neighboring properties that have an additional 20+ acres that are totally wooded giving the feeling of being further away from civilization than you are. In addition to the safari tent there is another flat and wood-chipped pad for an additional tent for your buddies or children to have their own space. Enjoy an outdoor shower on the edge of the woods with on-demand hot water. You’ll also have your own custom made steel fire pit with fire wood available for purchase (or you can bring your own). We have an outdoor picnic table as well as a table inside the tent for late night card games. We may have the prettiest outhouse on Hipcamp! There's a lovely little bathroom with a composting toilet and a sink with running water. We allow up to 6 people (no pets) and request that parties respect the limit so that our composting toilet can keep up with the demand with minimal servicing while you are here (to maintain your privacy). Feel free to walk and enjoy the flower field on a self guided tour, but if you’d like more information about the flowers and how they are grown, or if you’d like to pick flowers, please contact us to set up a time for a guided tour and help picking. Please no U-pick without guidance. We’d like to make sure to point out that there is convenient and dedicated parking for campers but the camping spot is about 200 feet from the parking area and over uneven ground. A cart is provided for unpacking your vehicle. Because it is very dark here at night, we would request that campers arrive before dark to safely find their way and unload with adequate light. We have two very friendly dogs, a farm cats, so we are not allowing pets to come camp at this time. Legit service dogs are welcome though. Things to bring: cooking gear, flashlights/headlamps, food, drinking water, ice, cooler, battery operated stuff (no power provided), towels for shower. Things provided: Weather proof tent, two queen sized beds and bed linens, outdoor and indoor tables chairs, solar-powered lights, composting toilet, firepit, outdoor shower with hot water, parking for 2 cars. NOT provided: bedding or sleeping bags for additional cots, cookware, dishes, power of any kind, ice or food. Local Activities: Bring your kayaks and SUP boards to the Olalla boat launch for a paddle in the lagoon or walk along the beautiful beach. Come experience some great local pizza and beer at the Olalla Bay Market or wine at the Olalla Winery. There is lots to explore in downtown Gig Harbor, from restaurants, breweries, and distilleries to fly fishing or antique shops. There are also local trails, parks, and hikes that we can recommend if you are looking for a quick day adventure. Many local, public golf courses are nearby too.
