The site is located on a lovely mountain brook in Huntington. The small 8' x 8' cabin includes a queen bed with a mattress protector (you provide your own linens, blankets, and pillows), a small wood stove, and a bedside table. The large windows overlook the falls, and you’ll fall asleep to the sound of the waterfalls and brook. There are drawers for storage under the bed. The site is accessed by a gravel driveway off a Class 4 road, and you can park close to the site. In winter, when there is snow on the ground, the Class 4 road isn’t plowed past the bridge, so you’ll need to walk in—about 50 yards from the parking area. Firewood is provided for the wood stove. The site is near our home (about 100 meters away through the woods) but is relatively private. It’s within a short drive or bike ride to some of the best mountain biking and hiking (Camel’s Hump, Mount Abe) and cross-country skiing (Sleepy Hollow, Camel’s Hump Nordic, Catamount Trail) in Vermont. We are 15 minutes from Richmond and Hinesburg, 20 minutes from Mad River Glen, and just a half hour from Burlington. The site does get cell reception, but the cabin has no electricity or other facilities, so all waste must be packed out. We provide a bucket commode, but please bring your own trash bags to pack out all waste.

There is a cabin on the property, which is available for limited rentals. However, we have a great flat yard just a short (2 min) walk to South Pond thats perfect for a tent. There's a rustic outhouse, fire pit, picnic table, and usually games like badminton setup. Our property is a couple miles down a private dirt road. Fishing is great (with a license of course), and the water is perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding.

Weekend Trip to Harold's View Farm

We loved our stay in the Cabin at Louella’s place. It was peaceful, had a lovely view of the mountains, and everything we needed for a rustic weekend stay. The bed was comfortable with plenty of warm blankets available. We brought sleeping bags and a small propane heater that kept us warm enough. We hope to visit again in the future and would recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a cozy stay.

This was my second stay at the Zen Cabin. I just love the peace that surrounds the whole property. The cabin is very comfortable and there's a nice propane stove to keep it warm. My husband and I LOVED our two-night stay in the bed-in-the-shed this past weekend. We've been up to Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center to do some gravel riding before and knew what to expect as far as amenities go. Peaceful evening. Cabin equipped with the things we needed. Rustic but in a good way. Found plenty of firewood around to use for the night. Bed was comfy. Nice family and very welcoming. Getty (food and store) up the road was worth a stop too.
