This part of Vermont is also known as the Northeast Kingdom or ‘Kingdom’ for short. Area notables are (but not limited to): Bread and Puppet Theatre, Hill Farmstead Brewery, Kingdom Trails Mountain biking, Stowe area, lakes (Willoughby, Elmore, Caspien. Eligo, Big and Little Osmer, and mast but not least our very own Craftsbury Nordic and Skulling Center.

Firepit. Firewood can be found in the woods, but if folks want to bring wood they may.

Composting toilet. We manage waste and compost it properly. Owner is state certified composter.

Spigot, pump or well. Deep artisan well, as people say who drink it: “This is wicked good water”

Compost bin, recycling bin, trash bin. We have cows and poultry, and ample sized gardens that we make our own compost for. Food scraps are highly encouraged to be composted by us.

Bathe in lake. We have a solar shower bag, and a private spot to shower. Solar bag can be hoisted up to desired height.

Mitch and Heidi’s Zen Cabin was a real treat to stay at. It’s a cozy and spacious cabin, nicely decorated, private, and in a magical setting. Mitch and Heidi were very sweet and kind people and gracious hosts. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone!

What an incredible place! The Zen Cabin is a beautiful, thoughtfully-planned space. Mitchell has gone above and beyond to create a welcoming and cozy space. The cabin is spotless, comfortable and really well decorated. We met Mitchell, his son and their dog and they were all so kind and helpful, and made us feel right at home. We could have stayed for a while! The fire pit at night was just perfect to give our kids some smores, and sit out comfortably. Mitchell let us pick some green beans for dinner and explore the property. This is such a lovely place, as is the larger area of Craftsbury. Highly, highly recommend. We will be back!
