I moved a house that was the general store in Coupland in the 1920s and remodeled it, then added a barn, also repurposed from a barn I took down for a neighbor. A few years ago I added a third structure, using materials from the Kimbro general store, built in 1920, from half mile away. I installed a rainwater system and composting septic in 2005 which is working great. Everything here I built myself, so if something goes wrong I can fix it quick. Often people say it looks like this place has been here forever!Learn more about this land:Just 20 miles from downtown yet in the middle of nowhere, this peaceful spot is surrounded by open land with farms and animals. We have a creek with small trees allowing for a very secluded experience.The Kimbro Store Retreat is home to my massage and healing practice. All buildings are reused from 80 years ago, so there is a timeless feel to it. We have cows, donkeys, cats and a rescue putty pup. You can set up close to the house or out in the woods.

Our main house, 'La Casa de Joy,' is a stunning luxury straw bale villa (once featured on HGTV) that is truly the perfect gathering space for a variety of special occasions and memorable events. Originally built by an artist & healer, her creative intention and style is felt throughout the entire property. Living Waters is blessed with an abundance of nature, including deer, birds, butterflies, crickets, hummingbirds, & more. You may wake up to the deer sleeping just outside your accommodation. Indulge you and your group by taking advantage of our on-site private yoga, massage, personal training, and facial services, and kayak, canoe, and stand-up paddle board rentals. We recommend local activities such as a wine tasting at Stone House Vineyard (walking distance), a swim/picnic at Krause Springs spring-fed pool, or an eco-adventure at Cypress Valley Canopy Tours. This unique property is a tranquil and rejuvenating respite in the hill country on Lake Travis, therefore it's not ideal for loud parties.
