Heavily wooded acreage with goats, horses and donkeys. There is no light pollution and if there are no clouds you can see the stars very clearly. We have a ton of wild birds. Owls and Cara Cara are common. There are deer, feral hog and two resident packs of coyote. We also have ring tail cats, which are nocturnal and rare. The best seasons are October 1st thru the end of April. It gets VERY hot and dry in the summer and can just be miserable. We have a shared bathroom and an outdoor shower and tub. If you are a single woman or a family with children, we don't take other bookings while you are visiting the farm. You will have the place to yourselves. The only exception being my family and I, if we are working or staying over at the farm. We should have a second bunkhouse up and running by fall of 2025. If you are tent camping, you may camp anywhere on the property but there are certain spaces that may make curious horses your roomies.

You may get a visit from “Tucker” the ranch dog, see "Bullseye" the mini-horse, "Woody", the mini-donkey, “Jesse” the cow or "Buzz and Bo-Peep" our Camaron Sheep. We have two pool cabanas are across the pool from the main house for a stay with modern conveniences. -The Casita (1 queen/1 single bed) sleeps 3 with a kitchenette and a full bathroom. -"The Bunkhouse" is still comfortable with a King Size bed (we can also convert to 2 singles if needed). This unit has a seperate living space with a mini-fridge and microwave, but no bathroom in the unit. We have an outdoor shower and poolside bathroom for use. -We also have 2 campsites on the open space for tent setup and camping under the stars. (no outdoor fires allowed) Access to the outdoor shower and pool bathroom. -The pool area is a shared space during your stay. Our property is mostly wooded, so please don’t be surprised by the occasional critters. We are nestled in a subdivision convenient to IH-10, 15 mins from downtown San Antonio, 25 mins to New Braunfels and river toobing, and 45 mins to Austin. Only 2 miles to the South Gate of Randolph Air Force base.

Weekend Trip to The Juniper Ranch & Retreat

The host is very nice and willing to help and lend information whenever necessary. Very nice get away from the rest of the world, you might be lucky to see some deer on our path like we did. Fire pit, grill, kitchenette, wifi, hot tub are good bonuses. We already want to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay! Just a few notes for future guests: the yurts are located in the owners’ backyard, so there isn’t a ton of privacy, and the bathroom doors don’t fully close since they don’t lock. The property has lots of fun animals, which adds to the charm, though a few did get out during our visit (a chicken, the dog, and even the pig) — a little stressful since we had our own dogs with us, but admittedly, waking up to a rogue pig was pretty thrilling. Last note, the heater in yurt 4 doesn’t work. 7/10

It was a quiet and pleasant stay. We stayed in the 2 person bunkhouse which was very cozy. The farm had some very friendly horses, goats and donkeys that we could feed treats to. The kitchen in the farmhouse was also well stocked with utensils, coffee, and seasonings. The pool was very refreshing in the hot sun. The host was also extremely helpful in calling us and providing all details and responding to our texts during the stay.

Before I could get out of the truck to unlock the door, my husband is yelling from inside the fence, “Babe! I love this place!” And we hadn’t even stepped inside to see all of the thought and effort that was put into the cabin. They have everything you could possibly think of. The only thing not in the cabin is an oven, unless I absolutely missed it. Two loft queen size beds with the master bed being a king size. A shower indoor and outdoor. A desk workspace. Every space so well used up. The hot tub was soooooo nice with the out door games! My husband and I own a CPA Firm and needed the little two night getaway to simply relax! I highly recommend Eder’s Property for any future stays. It is family friendly, but it’s more on the romantic side and nice to walk around naked if you wish because the whole housing is private fenced. I know we will be back for certain! Joe and Misty

Weekend Trip to Tipis on the Guadalupe

Awesome, family-friendly stay! All the creature comforts you need (plus even more than we are used to- a warm shower, towels and bedding provided, a well-stocked kitchen!) Campground is a short walk to the beautiful Guadalupe River! We had 7 kids across 3 tipis and everyone had a blast! The kids could roam safely around the campground games and grassy area while we cooked and relaxed. We can’t wait to go back!

Weekend Trip to Mockingbird Farms

Where do we start? The Boo Radley Bunkhouse was absolutely perfect — the bed was comfortable, and the space was cute, cozy, and well-equipped. The outdoor shower (with hot water!!) was great. And the path from the bunkhouse to the bathroom was easy to follow, which was a plus since we showed up late at night and had to find our way around. Cait and her merry band of misfits (engaging family, escape artist goats, and other two- and four- legged friends) kept us frequently entertained, but also gave us space to enjoy our anniversary trip undisturbed. We got lucky with the weather and got to light a campfire and look at the stars, but I don't think hearing rain on the bunkhouse's tin roof would've been too bad either. We will definitely be back!!! Highly recommend making the 45ish minute drive to Freidrich Wilderness Park as well — we saw/ heard several endangered birds, and the varied terrain (especially the Vista Loop) made for unexpectedly good hiking so close to San Antonio.

Michaela’s site is so cozy and thoughtfully laid out - all the comforts of home (air conditioning, toilets) while out in nature. She gave us bottle to feed the baby goats which was our highlight. It’s a perfect spot for getting away from the city and catching up on reading. Definitely recommend.

Weekend Trip to Mockingbird Farms

Mockingbird Farms is beautiful, safe, and serene. We had everything we needed in the bunkhouse for “glamping,” but I think tent camping here would also be a great experience. The farm has donkeys, horses, and goats — they are all super gentle and love people, and the host gave us animal crackers to feed them! Everything was very comfortable — plenty of hot water in the outdoor shower, AC unit in the bunkhouse, super comfortable bed. The host Cait was great to communicate with before the trip, and we got to visit with her for a bit on the property, she is so nice! Quick, easy access to the nearby towns (Somerset and Poteet) for meals and gas / dollar stores if you forgot to pack something. I believe this property would be very safe for solo campers, as well. I can’t recommend Mockingbird Farms enough — we’ll definitely be back!

The tiny house was perfect for my boyfriend & I. It was a surprise for his birthday and he absolutely loved it. The tiny house was clean, private, comfortable, and super romantic. The pool and sauna were really nice to have as well. Hill country is a dream and the location of Colibri was spot on. We would go back!

The Boo Radley Bunkhouse is so lovely, you can't call it camping! I would classify the experience as glamping++. Cait was the ideal host and took time to familiarize me with the area and what to expect over the phone before I arrived. The property is absolutely beautiful with happy animals to eat all of the (approved) goodies you can feed them. I brought my dog and she had the time of her life watching the horses, goats, and donkeys and running free which is rare, as she is a city doggo. We both slept very, very well. The outdoor shower and bath are something everyone should experience, if they enjoy a touch of luxury with their bucolic experience, of course. I could have spent hours enjoying that space. Thank you for a fabulous and peaceful escape, Cait. I'll be spreading the word and can't wait for another trip to your farm!
