We hosted a beautiful little 4 acre Hipcamp in CA for years, and sold to buy this 250 acre magickal property in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee, just 20 minutes from Fall Creek Falls, Tennessee's most beautiful State Park. Our property is one of a kind. We are on high ground, which means the bugs are not bad, and the views are amazing! We have amazing views of the Sequatchie Valley. We have the most incredible rock formations, some are huge, it’s our favorite part of the land. We have an amazing swimming hole with a huge flat rock right next to it for the most relaxing swimming days! We have 3 beautiful creeks that join at the bottom of the property with a small swimming hole where they join. The creeks have incredible rocks throughout, and are somewhat challenging places to hike, but absolutely beautiful to hike up and down. We have over 20 miles of roads and trails that are amazing for walking, hiking, and horseback riding. There are almost endless areas close to us for ATV riding, so we ask our guests to ride off property to keep our place peaceful. We don’t mind noise from a happy gathering or people playing but we try and keep machine noise down to a minimum. We have places for any type of camping, from backpack camping to Motorhomes, but at the moment we do not have hookups and limited on gravel rv areas, but many off gravel areas. The property has every type of wildlife Tennessee has to offer. Please be kind to our wildlife and don’t feed them. We have extensive cave systems from natural to old coal mine caves. There are endless dangers to these caves, from collapsing, to gases, and others… we ask you to enjoy looking from the outside and don’t go adventuring in. We are fun easy going people, and we ask our guests to be the same. We love to have a good time, we just ask that our guests respect the land, and our other guests, and leave the place better than you found it. Off the grid, out of the way, rustic 10 acres where you can pitch a tent, take a hike and enjoy a campfire.  Mostly wooded with nearby sites to explore, a few swings for fun (swings have recently been removed due to trees falling) and a fantastically cold SEASONAL mountain creek for cooling off.  Always improving our place, we recently removed the 'cabins', which had become unsuitable for use.  The property is part of a community, which you may notice on the way to the campsite.  Site 1 (The Swings) will be first left after you turn into the driveway.  It is a U shaped drive, at the bottom of the U, park and walk 15 feet to site.  Site 2  (Main Container) is at the end of main driveway, next to container.  Drive to end of driveway, park and walk 10 feet to camp.  Both are equidistant to the outhouse.  There is a trail (tagged with red) that goes all the way around the property, a top half and a bottom half that will take you by the creek. Please look through all of the listing information.  The SEASONAL creek at the bottom of the slope is wonderful and there is a spot for two adults to sit down into the crisp water and plenty of room for lots of feet. If you follow the path in the middle of the property, a 30 minute walk (therefore not on our property) will take you to a beautiful swimming hole. It's cold! There is no power or running water at the property so it's an ideal place to get away from daily life and truly relax. We hope you will enjoy it as much as our family does! Please note that even though some pictures show buildings, there are no longer cabins/shelter on The Land. We are unable to remove pictures Hipcampers post. It is raw 10 acres so, yes there are ticks. Cover up and spray as you see fit, just be aware. Also, since it is 10 acres of trees, there is plenty of firewood. We don't leave any bundles, just find down limbs and presto, firewood. DO NOT USE THE MAP LISTED OR GOOGLE MAPS; it will take you straight through water. We send detailed directions to you once the day before your booking. Please plan to travel in with daylight, it is incredibly difficult to navigate to our space in the dark. By far the most beautiful view of any campsite I’ve ever had! Getting to the site was more challenging than I’m used to — he isn’t kidding about 4x4 being strongly suggested, but my Frontier was able to pull my GeoPro up the climbs without problems. The site itself was very level and easy to back into, the the hookups were convenient. Garbage cans are provided. The cabin provides good WiFi. The only negative thing thing I can say about the site is that if you want privacy this might not be your place. The sites are right next to each other, which is in turn next to a cabin. There were two other sites occupied while I was there and everyone was respectful.

Stunning Ridge- a Great Escape** My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic 2-day stay at Ocoee Ridge Camp's Big Frog RV site in our Sprinter Van. Perched on the ridges of Cherokee National Forest near Old Fort, TN, it offers jaw-dropping panoramic views of mountains and valleys. Booking was seamless online, and the gravel roads were manageable (AWD or 4WD make it easy for larger rigs). The site is spacious with full hookups (20/30/50-amp, water,, very strong WiFi, picnic table, and fire pit. We grilled steaks at sunset, sat by the fire, and woke to magical morning vistas from our van bed. Days were spent hiking and mountain biking the gravel trails then relaxing under the awning; evenings featured epic sunsets and a moonrise highlight. Peaceful, private, and uncrowded with friendly staff. A must for van-lifers in the Southeast— Chris and the entire staff were great!! we'll return soon!

I stayed here for a long weekend and it was absolutely worth it and I will be back again. The property is amazing and the spots sit above the clouds looking over the Ocoee basin and the mountains. The sites are full hookups which are nice especially in the warmer months. There are only 4 sites and they are a little close so it would be great to reserve them all at once with friends. The owner came by several times to check in but otherwise extremely private! Highly recommend!

in a word, Chris' camp and cabin sites are gorgeous! The views of the Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia mountains are spectacular! We happened to be at Ocoee Ridge on a transition week for them and had the entire place to ourselves which made for a very quiet, reflective time. I rather don't want to tell you all of this because i want to keep this place a secret. But, it is a wonderful place to camp.

We had an amazing time primitive camping! The host gave clear, helpful directions that made finding the site easy. There are two campsites on the property, and we were lucky enough to have the whole area to ourselves. There was plenty of firewood to be found around the property. The site perfect for our small dogs—they could roam freely without any concerns. There’s a hidden blue hole, which was a great bonus. It’s about a 45-minute round trip hike—downhill on the way there and uphill coming back. Some sections of the trail are a bit overgrown, and we did pick up a few ticks, but that’s pretty normal for this kind of outdoor adventure.

The site is big and open. The owner, Taylor came out and cut up wood for us. That was awesome. The lake is close and the fishing good. Very little car traffic, only see one maybe 2 a day. Out house is good. The stream was dry and the hike was laborious but worth checking out. All in all a great location. Thanks taylor and Jeanette. We'll be back for sure!

If you want a real "adventure/wilderness" type of experience, this is for you! Getting to the camp site alone was an adventure for my son and I. Perfect for an "off-roading" type experience. Personally, having the opportunity to experience this with my vehicle was awesome. The property itself is a treat to behold. Beauty everywhere you look. From the stones to the trees, we enjoyed every bit of it. Regrettably, we didn't get the full experience due to time restrictions but there's always another time. Thank you guys so much!

Weekend Trip to The Land at FlatTop Mountain

This property is gorgeous. The blue hole was the highlight of the trip, it is absolutely magical down in the gorge. Unfortunately it was not warm enough to swim but some of the mountain laurel and rhododendron were still in bloom so we hung up our hammocks and just enjoyed the view. The trail down to the blue hole could use some TLC and clearer signage but overall wasn’t bad. I will definitely be returning to camp here with friends!

Unique space if you want a cabin and rv pad. I just had an rv and it's cool that they don't rent the cabin to someone else when you rent the rv pad. The description was very accurate so I had no false expectations when positioning my trailer. It's 17' and was easy to turn around and back in toward the utilities. I didn't have enough sewer hoses to reach, but that was fine since it was just me there for 2 nights. Electric and water was easy to reach. No problems with gate code or anything like that. Very smooth check in and check out. Also worth mentioning the wifi is very fast and was a nice bonus. I selected this site because of its proximity to Fiery Gizzard. The trailhead is literally 10 mins away. Also the small town of Tracy City is 5 mins away. Got great pizza at Hanks Corner Grill.
