Book a peaceful and beautiful site on a private creek. The Redwater Revival Campground joined Hipcamp and was open during the 2020 summer season. Herb met and accommodated many wonderful guests and had a blast doing it. The red bluff in the background was a very strategic vantage point for early Indigenous Americans for hunting game that roamed the creek bottom. The rest of this exciting story will have to be heard when you get here. The Redwater Creek is full of Brown and Rainbow trout. They are sneaky little buggers that can actually hear your footsteps when you are fishing along the bank. Please make sure that you stay with us for some very restful mesmerizing sleep along our part of the creek at the Redwater Revival Campground.

Private yet vast. The sky was amazing at night! Denny was responsive and quick to communicate. He wasn’t around when we booked the site (at the last minute) so he had his neighbor (Bob- a friendly older gent) get us all set up. It was accommodating and a perfect holdover spot for us for the night. Interesting to learn the history of the area!

I couldn’t recommend this place any higher. It’s right in Custer so it’s a pe fect for a base camp to go exploring. The hosts are always kind, always helpful, My dog Pandora liked them. She’s ans excellent judge. It’s quiet and is a great location.

Directions were very easy to follow and set up of campsites was logical and well spaced apart. We were the only ones there that night. Stayed at site 4. The toilet was a portable unit. Very clean. We got surprised that the water was turned off for the season but our host brought us water from his place which was plentiful. We recommend!

Denny was great. Met us at the road to show us where to park. Site was nice and quiet. Yes this is a pull in site but it was really easy to back out of.

Car is parked at end closest to incoming lane. This is the first, but most private, site.

The site was basically in Custer on private property. A beautiful town, a lovely property and although not really a private spot as far as trees or division from the main house, we were not bothered by anyone and it was a very quiet area. The WiFi was an extra bonus after not having any for a couple of days and electricity for plugging in the coffee pot and toaster! Very nice hosts who were communicative and helpful.

We had a fantastic week-long stay with Curt and Jackie! Their beautiful property and warm hospitality made our trip special. Jackie even surprised us with delicious homemade cupcakes—a lovely touch! Navigating our 40-foot fifth wheel through the gate and into the RV site was easy, with no issues backing in (even briefly on Curt’s lawn). The 15/20 amp electric hookup met all our needs. As noted, running an AC isn’t recommended since it trips the GFCI outlet. Fresh water was conveniently available from a spigot under the front stairs before parking. Their WiFi was fast and reliable, a lifesaver during our Starlink outage. The location is central—just 3-5 minutes from downtown Custer. Ace Hardware nearby stocks a good selection of RV supplies; we replaced some adapters there. After leaving, we used the Heritage Village Campground dump station about 10 minutes away. Dumping costs $5 (includes non-potable flush water), and fresh water is $5 extra. Pay at the office (GPS: 43.806109, -103.637695) before using the dump (GPS: 43.807089, -103.636157). Tip: Enter Heritage Village from Hwy 385 via Medicine Mountain Rd (GPS: 43.802555, -103.638236). Avoid Village Ave due to rough roads. We look forward to staying with Curt and Jackie again!

We stayed there for the last two nights and what a fantastic location! Only a few miles from town, but the site was remote enough to where we could hear coyotes howl at night and see the stars…. Mount Rushmore & Crazy Horse Memorial’s and Custer State Park are definitely worth visiting. The site had full hookups, (power, water & dump), a fire pit and a picnic table. The Wi-Fi was fast: 200 Mbps downlink & uplink, so uploading pictures to the cloud was fast. The only problem that we ran into was the site is a pull-in site, (and we’re fairly new to RV camping) but the host was gracious enough to help us back-down the driveway. We plan to return, next time we’re in the area!

Beautiful little spot!!! The creek behind camp was awesome, very peaceful and the water was super clear. Lots of wildlife including rabbits, birds, and deer wandered through. Also fireflies! You can just barely hear the freeway from camp but I was able to ignore the sounds pretty easily. Besides that the spot was very quiet and a great location. Would stay here again!
