Originally opened as a family campground owned and operated by Denis and Kay Snyder in 1964. Bald Eagle Campsite has been owned and operated by the Snyder family to this day!
Come join us in the beautiful forested landscape of Central Pennsylvania. Located a mere 20 miles south of Penn State University, we are surrounded by the many amenities Central PA has to offer.
We are welcoming to LGBTQ+ campers as well as all ethnicities.
Pitch a tent on a quiet site and drop a line into one of our two trout streams crossing the campground. Hang a hammock between two towering poplar trees surrounded by flowering rhododendron. Or pull up in your camper and relax before and after a Penn State Football game under the blue and white sky. We have small, secluded sites to get away from it all, as well as conjoined sites to accommodate larger groups.
On property we have bathrooms, hot showers, and a recreation hall with free ping pong, board games, and billiards.
For a fee, we also have firewood, electricity, and a large event tent for rent.
Campers must be less than 25 feet.
Generators are not allowed.
Music should not reach outside your own site after 9pm.
There are no water hookups.
Vehicle noise is audible from route 350, especially on Friday afternoons.
Noise is diminished at sites further back from route 350.
Our sites are wheelchair accessible, but the bathrooms and showers do have one step up into them.
Walk to Snappy's 24-hour convenience store to use their free Wi-Fi, buy bags of ice, or to pickup snacks and a sub in the attached Snappy's Grille. An ice cream stand and restaurant are within walking distance.
We require a minimum two nights stay for the recognized holiday weekends for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Camp Fannie is a 1970 Fan Style Liner in almost original condition, she sits on a little over 2 acres with the Susquehanna river in front train tracks out back with a occasional train passing by and on the far side another camp and Kettle Creek where it meets the river. Kayaking, canoeing, hiking, fishing and atv trails all close by. Cherry springs for star gazing, have seen elk crossing the river about a mile up stream. Hyner State Park has a lookout approximately 14miles away and hang gliders in the fall with many other State parks close by. There is a restaurant across the road from Fannie with great food. This is a very quiet spot with wild animals and the sounds at night are amazing.

Star Lee is a wonderful setting for a bucolic visit to Central PA. Close to Raystown Lake and other state lands it offers a nice stay for anyone to hike, bike, hunt, or fish in the area. Stargazing and daydreaming also included. As a working bee and hay farm, Star Lee offers the opportunity to settle in, relax and enjoy. It is clean, comfortable, and obviously well cared for. I highly recommend Star Lee and am still enjoying their honey. We’ll be back.

Terrific little campground. Linda was there to meet us and explained the lay of the land. Site was large and clean. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. Yes, you can hear the noise from the highway. But we knew that beforehand. We had an event in Tyrone and this was a great and affordable stay for us.

Weekend Trip to Star Lee Farm
We have stayed in a lot of hip camps, but this by far is one of the very best that we’ve stayed in. Some of the highlights: cozy cabin nicely decorated. No heat or electricity, but he had lanterns for us, but we brought our own. Nice outdoor area with a picnic table and a fire pit that was perfect. Also a gas grill for us to cook on. He is two other cabin places, but they are so far apart that you can’t really hear or see anyone else. The property is huge and it is a working bee farm and it was very cool. These are located nowhere near the cabin, so you never have to worry about the bees being near your cabin. Highly suggest you learn about raising bees from our host! He has delicious honey for sale and an awesome piece of property with lots of different birds and deer. we walked around his property the first day and went 1.7 miles so it is very large. Also, very nice that it is a close walk to the flushable toilets and hot water showers. This was also a huge plus for us in October. Kevin is very responsive. He is also retired military and very compassionate and energetic about his farm. We came up for the end of the road half marathon/4miler, but in addition to that there is much more in this area if you like the outdoors. We did not go to Raytown Lake / Alpaca farm which we will visit next time. We love to hike and within 15 minutes is beautiful hikes with awesome views in including the thousand steps and the standing stone trail. We highly recommend!!!

We stayed at Site 30- despite many reviews complaining about road noise, it truly wasn’t noticeable, and quieted down considerably in the early evening. Bathrooms were clean and in good condition, wood and dumpster were easy to access. We’ll be back!

This was a fantastic place for us to break up our trip to the northeast. It is worth the drive 100%, the views are fantastic and it is very private. Yvonne was easy to communicate with and super responsive. We are already looking at the calendar for the next trip out.

20 ft pop-up camper
This was a great site. Would definitely recommend it and go out of our way to come here again. The directions were easy to follow, it was fun to paddle around in the lake and we caught a fish. The dogs loved it as well.

Great little site. The campsite is very rustic. No frills. Just a place to set up camp. The Rhododendrons were really amazing. We can in after dark. Had some challenges getting to the site. (Bare right just after the shower facilities). This is a pets allowed sight which meant dogs barking all night, which was the only negative. We’d definitely sat here again.

Linda and Janet’s place was terrific. The tent sites were well secluded and the bathhouse was clean. Linda was waiting for another guest when I pulled in, so we chatted for a minute and then she showed me to my site.
I saw Linda several times throughout the weekend, checking on the bathhouse and on us guests. I’ll definitely be back, but with our camper next time!

Been going here since I was a kid, it is usually a hit or miss on weather but we got lucky this weekend with no rain and sunny skies. Lots of fun if you are into playing pool, ping pong, or fishing, or just being outdoors.

We came back for another stay at Riverside RV Camper Site, and it was just as peaceful and relaxing as we remembered. We enjoyed daily walks along the rarely traveled road that winds along the river. Evenings were spent relaxing by the fire watching the trains off in the distance.
It’s a great location for exploring nearby towns like Belleville, Reedsville, and Lewistown, all offering great little shops, restaurants, and local attractions.
The campground itself remains clean, quiet, and well-kept. If you’re looking for a relaxing place to stay with easy access to small-town charm and scenic views, Riverside RV is a wonderful choice.

It is a very lovely and picturesque camping spot. I would definitely go there again. You are surrounded by farm country in front and the mountain behind you. Gorgeous!!! I will say that you should be prepared for the Spotted Lantern Flies. That is not Yvonne’s fault, it’s just the current insect nuisance. They don’t bother humans though.
I camped alone but I felt completely safe there. So peaceful. Just what I needed. Thank you Yvonne!!!

This spot was great. So convenient to have access to the showers and bathroom. And so peaceful by the stream. Only downside is the closeness of the road but the access to the road and convenience store makes it worth it. Linda was so helpful when she first greeted me at the site as well!
