Cozy Little Old House in Lost Creek

The house is located on two acres. There is a firepit on the property with plenty of wood available. There are hiking trails right behind the house. Campers are welcome to stay in the house or camp in the back yard. You can call it Executive camping. The house is old and was built in 1860 so it has an old house feel. It is fully functional with heat and hot water. There are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom with nice hot water and a kitchen for cooking. There is also a beautiful deck behind the house with a grill. Many of my guest says this is the best part of the house.. Its really inspiring to sit on the deck at night time and look at the stars. There is a lot to do in the area, when you book I can send you a list of things. There is a unique thermal geyser about 3 miles down the road that is a must see for example. Knoebbles amusement park is about a 20 minute drive if that is your thing.

Learn more about this land: This wooded area is 5 miles away from the Ohiopyle State Park whitewater launch area and GAP bike trail. We are less than 9 miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's Classic Fallingwater and about 8 miles from Kentuck Knob one of the last resident homes he designed (both are open for tours). Fort Necessity National Battlefield is 5 miles away. There are numerous native trout streams in the area. Youghiogheny Reservoir is 7 miles away for fishing, boat rentals, and water-sports. The Fern House is the primary camp cabin on the property in 2024. Although if someone would want to park a "self contained" camper or small RV on the property we would permit the unit to occupy the area in front of the driveway just pass the entrance gate. It is not within the ferns and is next to the road. There is an electrical outlet available at this small RV or van camper site. We are "nice pet" friendly. We have a mountain spring (when the spring is running) up the trail road (450 feet away). The ferns will normally be in full glory by the end of May to the beginning of October and are amazing, covering the forest floor. Deer, bear, wild turkey, fox, chipmunks, squirrels and many woodland birds abound the property especially owls. A picnic table, fire ring and firewood is available on the property. Free WiFi on the property as long as the plant life is not too thick! There is a mile hiking loop right on the property and many challenging trails in the area, including the starting point for the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail.

Sleep like a log in our one-room charming cabin on a small private lake lot with non-motor boats only. Little Elk Lake is 43 acres. Queen bed with linens provided, plus 2 adult cots with pads and sleeping bags. Rowboat plus 1 youth kayak, two adult kayaks and a canoe are available for your use, and we have life jackets in many sizes. We are sorry but the pontoon boat cannot be used by guests. The fishing is EXCELLENT and bring your binoculars - BALD EAGLES frequent the lake! We want you to have so much FUN during your visit, but we are not a party spot. The lake is rural and quiet, and so we must request low noise levels after 10 pm in order to keep our neighborhood HAPPY! :) We welcome everyone, including the LGBQT community and folks from all ethnicities. You'll feel like you are coming home to a safe haven and all guests will be treated with kindness and respect here at Sunset Shore! Don't waste one moment of lake time! Local Art is AMAZING! The Artist's Open House Tour is FREE and is Columbus Day Weekend annually. Most of these art studios are open YEAR ROUND by appointment. Our favorite shop is #8, Chris Lathrop, who is also the closest, less than 10 minutes away (you'll also see some of her work in the cabin). Call her and schedule a watercolor class! Wine! ... and Beer! We are so lucky to have many locals within a short drive. Check out Nimble Hill Vineyard and Winery and Nimble Hill Brewery, Endless Brewing, Grovedale Winery, Pickering Winery, Antler Ridge Winery, and Hidden Creek Vineyard & Winery. Wine is also available for 2-day delivery on the INSTACART app. Hiking - So many options. Closest only 5 minutes away is Woodbourne Forest & Wildlife Preserve, but many others such as Salt Springs State Park, Keystone College, Lackawanna State Park. Just google it! Creekside Gardens! We LOVE plants. Our favorite garden center, located 30 minutes away in Tunkhannock, offers many fun garden, craft, and decorating activities each weekend. They raise thousands of BUTTERFLIES which you may visit or if you're lucky they may have a butterfly release scheduled when you are here. In late summer you may even purchase a cocoon that's ready to hatch!

Nestled on 3.28 acres in rural PA, this snug cabin comfortably accommodates six guests and offers a serene escape from everyday life. Unplugged from WiFi, this retreat encourages genuine connections and tranquility. The quaint kitchen is equipped with a sink, refrigerator, portable electric cooktop, microwave, and toaster oven. Essential kitchenware is thoughtfully provided for your convenience. The living room/bedroom combo offers a couch, chair, coffee/end tables, and 2 bunk beds for sleeping. A TV with DVD player and board games have been provided for rainy/cold days. The cabin features electric heating, air conditioning, a full bathroom with a shower, and pure well water. Outside, guests can enjoy a cozy fire pit, a welcoming picnic table, and gentle outdoor lighting to enhance the peaceful and romantic ambiance. Keep your eyes open and binoculars and cameras ready. Situated in South-West McKean County, the cabin is a brief drive from the historic Kinzua Bridge State Park, where an array of outdoor adventures and stunning vistas await.
