We would like to open it up to dry camping, some cabins, and RV Spaces with partial hookups at this time as we are already seeing a huge influx of cyclists and motorcycles in the area and they have no place to camp. There is a bathhouse onsite as part of the Pavilion structure. Please do not park on grass, unless you are an RV Space with partial hookups that has made arrangements with park host. Welcome to our new home! Kyle and I live in the main house on 5 sprawling acres of pasture and shady pines. The property is peaceful, the skies are full of stars, and wildlife visits often. Our little farm is also home to a small flock of sheep, 3 alpaca, a llama, and a gaggle of chickens. The RV pad pictured is currently rented. Available to rent is our primitive upper meadow to campers and vans. There are no hookups or toilet onsite so we require campers to have their own self enclosed bathroom. Campers are welcome to fill up water, charge devices or use WiFi by the house (there is limited to no cell service at our property). There is a county wide campfire ban through September at least which only allows for use of barbecues (no campfires even if enclosed in something like a solo stove). We’re a 15 minute drive from White Salmon up Snowden, about a mile away from hiking and biking trails (not on trail maps) and a 5 minute drive to an upper entrance to coyote wall hiking/biking trails. Make this your home base for an evening, weekend or longer for a night under the stars, or your biking, kite boarding, or other outdoor adventures! And, if you or your family is interested in meeting some of our farm animals I’d be happy to introduce you!

It is close to hiking, biking, and forested waterfalls a short drive away. We have beautiful short hikes on trails in our forest on the property. World class windsurfing 30 miles away in Hood River, as well as more amazing waterfall hikes in the Columbia River Gorge. The Sandy River recreation area is just up the road from us and we are 10 mins. from The Sandy Ridge Trail with its 17 miles of mountain bike trails. Each campsite is tucked in the woods and has access our communal fire pit at our gathering space. Our well water tastes amazing! The is not a developed campground, it is our home. We see ourselves as stewards of this hidden forest gem and welcome people to enjoy its beauty. We are avid campers and recently spend 9 months in our teardrop trailer off grid on public lands. Living here we are three family members, one renter and short term volunteer traveler workers. NON-NEGOTIABLE RULES: PACK IN PACK OUT: We do not have trash or recycling bins down in the creekside campground so please keep your waste contained and take it with you when you leave. Please do not throw any trash in the porta-potties. 4WD/AWD REQUIRED PAST THE BARN: The steep gravel roads can be tough for some cars and rigs (particularly on the way out) and consequently, can cause a lot of damage to our roads. So for everyone's safety, we have restricted access to only vehicles with 4WD or AWD only. Please do not message us asking us to advise on the vehicle you have. If someone in your party has a 2WD vehicle, they can park up in the entry lot and get shuttled down to the campsites in a 4WD vehicle. DOG FRIENDLY: We are as dog friendly as it gets here. Unleashed dogs are allowed on this property down by the creek (on-leash required in and around the barn). If you have a fear of dogs, or have dogs that are not friendly with other people or fellow dogs, this probably isn't the right campground for you. Of course, we expect all dog owners to keep an eye on their pets so they don't disturb other campers or ingest anything they're not supposed to. QUIET HOURS: 10pm-9am. We ask that guests keep the noise (loud music and loud conversations) to a minimum between 10pm and 9am. We live onsite and will enforce these if we have to (please don't make us). David’s property has all the amenities you need and nothing you don’t. Starlink, compost toilet outhouse, fire ring and picnic table. The quiet at night was incredible and helped foster a great nights sleep. There was a small hiccup on arrival (a tree had fallen across the driveway) but David was quick to reply and we were able to figure out a way in. Great spot for a little rest and relaxation!

Great little private spot! Stayed a couple of nights, had everything one would need. There is a composting toilet and portable water we didn’t use since we were in our RV. We were able to pick where we wanted to hike with lots of options out there.

Burke and Shannon are fantastic and friendly hosts, who live in an absolutely stunning location. This area is amazing in its beauty and outdoor activities, and they know some good spots to check out (thanks for the Salmon River trail tip!!). The RV spot was easy to back into, spacious, and had water/power in a convenient location. I will definitely be checking in the future to see if they are available when I’m in the area twice each year!

Great little campground for campers! We brought our travel trailer out for a weekend trip so we could be near Hood River And this campground was great for us. Nicely wooded, small little spots that fit our camper and had space for a table and fire ring. There was a playground near the office that my 3yo enjoyed. Plus the beautiful drive to get there along the gorge. Definitely recommended!

Weekend Trip to Hoodland Basecamp at Scrumpy Farest

We tent camped on one of the RV sites (Potbelly 2) so we could drive up, and we had a fantastic time. Our 3-yr old twins LOVED getting to meet and feed the farm animals, and the people who live on site were very friendly and welcoming. The outdoor bathroom was the cleanest I’ve ever experienced and only a few minutes walk from our site. The showers were a nice feature as well!

It was our second visit to lions Mane camp site and we just had a blast! If you live in Portland it is so fast to get to but you truly feel as though you are immersed in wilderness. We relaxed around the fire pit, made smores and explored the hiking trails. We even checked out some other sites which we plan to book soon.
