Park in our large wrap-around driveway under our beautiful Ponderosa pines and fall asleep to the gorgeous view of the stars with no obnoxious streetlights. Don’t worry, we have a flood light and cameras to keep you and your stuff safe! Then wake up to the smell of our Juniper trees and watch our local group of mule deer grazing through the yard with views of Tumalo Mountain. Just across the street starts the Canal Trail that heads East and West. A 5 min bike ride East along the trail will take you to a Fred Meyer Grocery store, Starbucks, and much much more. Or take the Canal Trail West through the massive 123+ acres of forested public land that connects directly to the Deschutes River Trail (only 4 mins away). Once there, the outdoor activities are endless! Great fishing, bouldering, biking, swimming, rafting, and nature viewing spots are all within a couple minute walk from our home. Heading to the Old Mill or Hayden Homes Amphitheater for some shopping, a concert, restaurants, or drinks? It all starts 3/4 of a mile down the hill! If you’re viewing this posting, you probably already know all the amazing outdoor and sporting opportunities, entertainment, shopping, and eating that our beautiful town of Bend offers. Weekend Trip to Twisted Juniper Ranch
This was one of the most unique places I've visited! Truly a experience. Drew was a wonderful host and a great help figuring out the cover on the yurt. I appreciated the proximity to the out house and the extra detail of potted water, water to wash hands and dishes as well as a grill. The yurt was thoughtfully stocked with a kettle, some teas, dish soap, garbage bags, paper towels and cups. It's about 15 min drive to downtown/old bend and about another 10 (25ish min) to the Amphitheatre. I would highly recommend staying here, I hope to be back soon!

Simple, level, shaded spot to stay right off the road so there is traffic noise but it didn’t bother us. 1 mile from The Mill District.There is a historic canal trail about 150 feet from the property. Really ice trail. The dogs loved it.

We had such a wonderful experience thanks to our amazing camp host! We arrived late at night with a last-minute reservation, and he went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. He greeted us warmly despite the hour, helped us get settled quickly, and made everything feel easy and stress-free.
What really stood out was his thoughtfulness during our stay—while we were out exploring for the day, the wind picked up and he took the time to stake down our tent so nothing blew away. That level of attention and care is rare and so appreciated.
Truly one of the best camp hosts we’ve ever had—friendly, helpful, and genuinely looking out for his guests. Can’t recommend him highly enough!

Great camping spot! Directions were clear, beautiful area, and communicative host! We even had water provided, chairs, plus a picnic table. We were there two nights, with great stargazing the second night. Private lots, clean porta potty, Fred was awesome. Would definitely recommend!

Cute little place. Just enough off of the beaten path to be quiet and remote. Drew was so accommodating making sure we had everything we needed and even mentioned some good food spots in bend. Next time we come back this will definitely be first pick!

Our stay at this campsite was truly amazing. From the moment we arrived, the host was incredibly helpful and friendly, making us feel very welcomed. He provided a container of water and explained camp rules. The campsite was clean and thoughtfully maintained, with plenty of room between sites with trees and brush to maintain privacy for a relaxing experience.
The location was stunning—I just love the high desert landscape and is surrounded by mountains that lit up at sunset. The skies at night were beautifully dark and clear, perfect for stargazing. It felt like we had a front-row seat to nature’s best show.
During the morning, my son had an absolute blast exploring and catching lizards, while I got to unwind in the hammock and soak in the peaceful sounds of birds and the breeze through the trees. It was the perfect mix of adventure and tranquility. All with close proximity to the lake and adventures in the surrounding area.
I highly recommend this campsite!!

Wow! We had the most pleasant time camping. Fred, the host, was so accommodating and friendly. He had freshly mowed an area for our Subaru (we car camp). We were offered water, but we brought our own, and there is an extremely clean portapotty. Even though we were near his campsite, it was still private. The stars were incredible! And the scenery was relaxing. We just needed a campsite within driving distance of Smith Rock (it’s about a 50 minute drive) and we got so much more!! I’m saving this place & telling anyone who cares to listen about it.

Weekend Trip to Twisted Juniper Ranch
Our stay in Drew's yurt was even better than expected! Drew was a great communicator and a welcoming host. He and his adorable kid met us on arrival and gave us a tour of the space. The yurt itself is cozy and beautiful, with thoughtful decor and amenities (the coffee, for example, was so good); we slept well in the luxurious bed. We were free to come and go as we wished, and Drew was responsive if/when we needed something or had a question. We enjoyed our hosts' company so much that we invited them to enjoy s'mores with us around the fire one evening, and could have appreciated yet more time getting to know them. It is still a "camping" experience in that there is no running water and the restroom is a composting toilet in a little trailer (actually so comfortable and easy to use though), so it may not be for everyone, but we would return again and again -- and hope to do so!

This was a great stay for my 3 year old and I! Drew and Ziggy warmly welcomed us, Ziggy even introduced us to his new chicken which made my daughter's day. The yurt was very comfy and stayed warm despite the overnight temp getting down in the 40s, the bed was very comfortable and the spot was neat and well maintained. Drew was kind enough to recommend some nearby food options as well, overall could not have asked for a better pit stop in our roadtrip!
