Come stay in a traditional Mongolian Yurt on this majestic 2.4 acres of land located on a butte with southern exposure facing Mt. Bachelor, Broken Top, and Three Sisters Peaks. Enjoy the great views while soaking up plenty of sunshine during the days and excellent star gazing at night. Juniper dominate the landscape with an abundance of black lava, the densest lava found in Central Oregon. There are local mule deer that travel thru the ranch foraging on sagebrush and juniper berries. This campsite is located close to plenty hiking/biking trails and state parks. Whether you enjoy rock climbing, fly fishing, hiking, rock hounding, or spending the day shredding on Mt Bachelor there are activities for everyone nearby. We have a flock of 5 free range chickens that you are likely to encounter, they are very friendly. 6 miles-Tumalo State Park 20 miles-Smith Rock State Park 10 miles-Redmond Airport 32 miles-Mt. Bachelor 3 miles-Deschutes River 9 miles-downtown BendWelcome to the Serpentine Ger / Mongolian Yurt We created a unique experience to glamp in a traditional hand crafted 19' Mongolian yurt. Nestled in a Juniper Grove, enjoy the peekaboo Mountain Views of North and Middle Sisters along with Broken Top peaks. The yurt is well insulated for the cooler nights in Central Oregon and heated with a cast iron propane stove. Stargazing is incredible, along with epic sunrise and sunsets from this Southwestern facing property. We have cozy, vintage solid wood furniture pieces, Nature’s Best organic queen mattress, organic cotton sheets provided and a Batik cotton duvet. Spring water with dispenser and tea station. Outside we have a Camp Chef dual stovetop with ample BTU's and a large bbq grill. We have a flock of chickens and one resident Peacock(although our Peacock recently disappeared possibly because it's mating season, we are currently searching for him). Our dog Willie is a mini Aussie, he may come to greet you as he is very social and loves to be pet. There is a porta potty near entrance for your bathroom needs and a hand wash station for cleaning up behind yurt. Currently we are not accepting animal companions. During warmer summer months we turn off stove for heating yurt. This summer there is a fire ban locally(usually beginning ltter part of June) with extreme fire risk, please be responsible. We provide a propane fire pit which is safe to use during the fire season ban, or previous to the ban. The terrain is very rocky so it’s a good idea to have a flashlight at night and wear shoes that protect your feet as there are many rocks that are difficult to see in the nighttime. This is a rural, residential neighborhood with large, wooded lots and incredible views. Please be respectful of neighbors and quiet time hours. The beautiful attractions of Central Oregon are only a short drive from our ranch. Ask for recommendations we are happy to help, as we've lived in this area for 10 years and are outer lovers.

Gem of a Yurt
Drew’s yurt was a fantastic stay. Outside included a full gas fire pit, propane grill, hand washing station, & the cleanest porta potty I’ve ever used. In the yurt was a spread of much classier furniture than expected, lots of warm blankets/pillows, a cozy bed, tasteful string lighting, both a heater and a gas powered fireplace, & the makings for tea with some very cool mugs. At night, the stars were spectacular. Spent one night here between two day trips to Smith Rock and would definitely stay again!

Great for solitude and resetting
I enjoyed the solitude of the location and felt comfortable during my stay. The bed is excellent and the sheets are comfortable. The yurt is well built furnished tastefully. Great idea for the teas! Areas of improvement: it would be nice to be able to wash my face. Possibly leaving some hand towels by the water dispenser. A couple of chairs with shade would be helpful (I did notice the picnic table directly behind) Favorite attribute: turntable. I collect vinyl and after spotting the turntable and records I assumed there would be the usual blend of goodwill records to listen to. Not the case! There were a few albums in great shape that I spun over and over (Grateful Dead).
