Everything was great!!! The directions to the location were easy to navigate. The location was amazing taken care of so beautifully!!! Steve did a wonderful job at decorating it with little knick knacks and trinkets to make you feel at home, but the site still had an outdoor camping vibe!! The river roared and sounded beautiful at night. The chairs on the river bank were the best part, to just sit out there and relax. It was cold but I bet in the summer it will be a nice spot to sit and look at the stars and catch the water glistening off the moonlight. Can't wait to go back!!

From first contact to last, Allison, Neal, Lawrence, and the whole Camp Colton team made us feel welcomed and cared for. It's a beautiful campus with excellent facilities. Perfect way to keep dry in the wet Oregon spring when tent camping just ain't the vibe.

This site was amazing and very peaceful. Steve was a fabulous host and made sure everything was in order. The site was huge, had two hookups, multiple chairs, fire pits, and tables. It really had anything you need. Aside from big trucks going by on the road you couldn’t hear any noise over the river as you are set back. I definitely plan on staying here again.

We didn’t want to leave! It was super cozy and fishing in the pond right outside the door, hiking the trails and hanging by the fire - all fab. And the staff is warm and welcoming. Thank you!

What a cool and unique spot! Steve was awesome helping us get our 40' 5th wheel in place. It was tight, but we made it! We unfortunately had to leave after 1 night but it was a gorgeous spot. Will definitely be back!

What an amazing spot. You could easily fit a few campers in here. We were solo just cause we like it like that. The camp is immaculate, the host Steve was amazing. You do get a little road noise due to the proximity of Hwy 126, but it's well worth it.

Absolute perfection. This place is one very large single campsite with 2 seperate hookups for a family or small group. It is in trees just feet away from the Mckenzie River. It has been immaculately cared for and is a fabulous lay out and design. The host was thoughtful about everything including putting a bamboo wall around the porta potty. It is so peaceful with the sound of the river. We were there 4.5 days and never saw another person. This is now in our list of places to return. And I can not do it justice with words.

Weekend Trip to Ruah Ranch

Ruah Ranch was a beautiful space, especially if you like dogs, cats, chickens, and horses. It was bit chilly in my tent during the winter season so bring extra layers. Thank you Lee, Connie, and especially Sherry for jumping my car battery after I drained it. I got some much needed fresh air and sunshine. The folks in town were pleasant as well. 🙂

Neal met us gave us the information about camp. Showed us where the bathroom was for our room. It’s super cute and very peaceful and clean.

We’ve stayed here many times, always finding peace and quiet, scenic, pastoral views, and friendly hosts. Water and electric hook ups for RV are a good benefit here. Don’t hesitate to camp here if you’re out this way.

Nice folks, chatted for a bit about their race horses. Lee offered to help spot me backing in and help me get set up. Site was nice and peaceful, just make sure you have leveling blocks. O h and a very friendly Corgi came for a visit a few times which was nice!

This was a great get away right off the McKenzie River. Beautiful camp site and has great amenities. The host was super friendly. We will definitely be staying again. Thanks for having us!!

We loved our stay at Ruah Ranch. Was nice and quiet, we loved walking down the gravel road. Connie was great and answered any questions that we have! Her little dog Chloe is precious and has the unofficial title of camp host :) we would definitely stay here again. I look forward to staying in the spring or summer when the weather is even better!

Ruah Ranch is situated on an old donation land claim and was also the site of nomadic Native American tribes. Abundant wildlife graces our acres as well as the beautiful Thoroughbred horses we raise. You'll likely be serenaded by coyotes in the evenings and may catch sight of them during the day. Three different species of raptors frequent the skies above the ranch and beavers have established outposts along the stream. Beautiful thoroughbred horses will greet you every morning from their nearby pasture while you enjoy your coffee in the shade of the trellised Wisteria. Silver Falls State Park is a short drive away where you can enjoy hiking and biking and even guided horseback rides. The Oregon Gardens are just a bit further north on the outskirts of Silverton and many wineries dot the landscape all around. If you like horses we’ll be happy to give you a tour of the ranch and introduce you to the resident equines, many of which have horse racing royalty up close in their lineage.

Our family "Riverhouse" is one of my favorite places in the world. We use it to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday professional life. The town of Harrisburg is such a cool, easy-going, quaint place to spend some time. Accessibility is one of its' key assets. Harrisburg has a few family owned places to eat at, and a few shops to explore. It's a one light town, but that is why we love it here. The river is my favorite part. I sit for hours on end, watching the water flow by. Fishing, rafting/floating, and wading in the water are all fun things to do here. If you are looking for something just to get off the highway for the night, or for a longer stay, this is a great quiet place to be.
