For your comfort and convenience, we provide amenities such as an outdoor shower, fire pit, picnic table, and outhouse with a sink. Whether you're roasting marshmallows around the fire or enjoying a picnic by the creek, our campsite offers the perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Medium-sized campers are welcome to park on our gravel driveway, but please note that large campers may have difficulty with accessibility due to the incline. However, we assure you that the tranquil setting and natural beauty of our farm make it well worth the visit. Our small hobby farm adds to the charm of your stay, with friendly cows, potbellied pigs, turkeys, and a thriving garden to explore. Feel free to bring along your furry friends, as long as they are friendly with our animals. Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. Whether passing through for a night or a few days stay, you’re always welcome in our neck of the woods. You may also select a movie or two from our large selection of DVDs or find a book to read among our stash of books. Play cards, engage in one of the other games provided, or just sit in the quiet of it all and rest your mind. There is a golf chipping area as well as basketball. We have WIFI at our residence on the adjacent property and some areas of the camp will pick it up better than others. There is a fire ring on site with an adjustable grate for cooking and plenty of seasoned firewood available.. We will have a few items available for purchase inside the cabin including local honey (when available) apple butter, coffee, hand crafted walking sticks and you won’t want to leave without some of these goodies. This semi secluded property is a gem and we hope you will enjoy this piece of history as much as we do. You may see wildlife such as whitetail deer and of course, there are plenty of birds and squirrels around. For your comfort and convenience, we provide amenities such as an outdoor shower, fire pit, picnic table, and outhouse with a sink. Whether you're roasting marshmallows around the fire or enjoying a picnic by the creek, our campsite offers the perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Medium-sized campers are welcome to park on our gravel driveway, but please note that large campers may have difficulty with accessibility due to the incline. However, we assure you that the tranquil setting and natural beauty of our farm make it well worth the visit. Our small hobby farm adds to the charm of your stay, with friendly cows, potbellied pigs, turkeys, and a thriving garden to explore. Feel free to bring along your furry friends, as long as they are friendly with our animals. Located across from Sycamore State Park, our campsite provides easy access to hiking trails and fishing ponds, allowing you to further immerse yourself in nature's wonders. And with downtown Dayton just a short 30-minute drive away, you'll have the best of both worlds – the tranquility of the countryside and the excitement of the city. Come stay on our 11 acers located just minutes away from Mad River Mountain ski resort, Indian Lake, Ohio Caverns, and Camp Myeerah. They have a great nature preserve with breathtaking hiking trails. Logan county is also home of the Piatt and Mac-O-Chee Castles both located 20 minutes from camp. For those who desire to shoot small or large guns, there is a gun store/range located next door to us. Great way to relieve some stress. (Able to watch the total solar eclipse. April 8th 2024.) We offer two excluded primitive sites with fire rings, spaced for privacy. Both surrounded by trees and wildlife. We have two porta john toilets in a central location with a hand washing station. If weather permits all vehicles have access to both sites. We are a few minute drive from Prairie Oaks Metro Park where hiking and water activities are available for those with kayaks or canoes. Water and 30A electric is available, but no sewer. Must have your own bathroom.
