Going off-grid is easy in North Dakota, but you can still stay connected at these campgrounds.
From the rugged Badlands of Theodore Roosevelt National Park to the vast prairies of the Great Plains, North Dakota is best known for its vast open roads and remote countryside. And the more you venture off the beaten track, the more difficult it is to find a high-speed wifi connection or a reliable cell phone signal. RV campers in need of wifi should stick to the RV parks and resorts around Bismarck, Grand Forks, and Fargo, but there are also a few North Dakota state parks with wifi. Lakeside campers can enjoy views of the Badlands and free wifi at Lewis and Clark State Park (although it is notoriously slow!), and public wifi is available at the Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site. Alternatively, seek out a private Hipcamp where you can get connected—campsites with wifi are few and far between, but they do exist!
