Come pitch your tent on a remote hill top surrounded by amazing views and nearly two hundred acres of diverse forests and pasture lands. The camp sites are private from each other with a large common area at the top of the hill with a fire pit, lean-to shelter, outhouse complex with water for hand washing (seasonally available) and sweeping views of the Green Mountains. There are trails for hiking and mountain biking (no dirt bikes or ATV's) all over the farm and a beautiful brook in a sheltered mountain valley. Just a 5 minute drive to the bottom of the hill is the first branch of White River; a beautiful clean river for swimming and fishing crossed by multiple covered bridges that lead to the farm. What a beautiful and well laid out location. There are different sections of camping, depending on what you like. Large fields with a very nice little stream off the back of the property where you may be lucky to catch some horses playing in the water. The tenting area looks amazing - amongst apple trees and along the river. The owners are present and attentive. We messaged them about a boisterous neighbor after quiet hours and they not only kindly addressed it at the time, but followed-up the next morning. Bonus; The store has a little of everything you could possibly need.

What a beautiful spot! We camped at site 1 (wood's edge) and loved it. The community space on the hill just above is fantastic, and my five year old really loved exploring, and even finding a slide in the woods! So nice to have firewood waiting for us at the site. I would definitely stay here again, and would love to have more time to explore the many trails.

Absolutely incredible! Would definitely book again. We got lucky enough to have the whole camp to ourselves. We brought the kayak down to the water (about a 5 min walk) and paddled around all afternoon. Little walking trails all around the property. Grill for cooking and plenty of fire wood although I did bring my own. Quiet but close enough to town. Super response host and beautiful land. Thank you for having us!

Perfect campsite! It felt like we had our own little mountain to ourselves. Views, walking trails, privacy, and just enough convenience with bathrooms and nearby farmstead. Absolutely lovely. The drive up and down the mountain can be a little spooky, especially in the rain, but it’s doable!

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend with our 2 year old daughter and had an absolutely wonderful time. The site was clean and well maintained when we arrived. The hosts were very responsive and helpful when we had questions. The camping site sits at the top of a hill that borders their farm. This makes for a great day hike if you want to go down to the White River for an afternoon swim. The compost outhouses were very well maintained and were not at all uncomfortable to use. We plan on coming back and bringing friends with us next time! Thank you Evan & Family for making our first family camping trip something special to remember!

What an awesome place right on the river! We made a 10 minute drive up to Lovewell pond and floated in our tubes all afternoon right back to our camp! We tent camped and brought everything we needed but had we not Erik had offerings for grilling, an outdoor sink, picnic tables etc. (Also provides the cleanest porta-john ever!) There is also a convenience store a mile and a half away. The beach area off this property was amazing, a nice shallow section leading into a deeper swimming area. The river here is all sand and completely clear of rocks/debris etc. Thank you to Erik, for sharing this beautiful land!

We had a great time camping at Ginger’s property. We choose the sight near the brook. It was very private and just the right amount of space for our cars and tents. The sound of the brook made for a very peaceful experience. We were pleasantly surprised to find an outhouse as well. We already booked our next stay. A couple things to note, the access to the sight is tight but I was able to navigate it with a full size truck and small pop-up camper. For anyone that needs to be connected all the time there is no cell phone signal.

We recently stayed at Camp Ash Lilly for one night and had a great time! It was a cute little private section of property with a fire pit and wood available. Site is viewable from the road but it did not negatively impact our stay and it wasn't too loud with traffic. The hosts were friendly and even brought us more wood later in the evening! There is access to a trail and river spot just down the road (walkable) and although not deep enough to swim, it was a very private, serene area. Would camp here again :)

We camped at the top and really enjoyed having the stage when it rained. There was no one else there and it was very quiet and peaceful. We were appalled to discover the next morning that the campers before us had left a lot of food scraps and used paper products hanging in the corners of the stage. This despite all the warnings about bears. Just because they can't reach it, doesn't mean it won't attract them for the next campers. Take your trash with you, people!

This place is MAGICAL. We booked all three sites with a group of friends (and our pup) and it was perfect. All the kids had a blast! The Cherry Glen site was wonderful. Separate and secluded with quick access to trails and the common areas. We'll definitely be back!

Where to go

White Mountain National Forest

Mere miles from Twin Mountain, White Mountain National Forest comprises over 800,000 acres of rugged terrain. Covered in hardwoods and conifers, White Mountain is a popular destination for hikers and backpackers of all skill levels who want to see the forest’s amazing sights, including the Appalachian Trail. Camping options abound in the forest with several managed campgrounds spread over Androscoggin, Pemigewassett, and Saco Ranger Districts. Find various amenities in each campground, including flush toilets, faucets, and hot showers, along with hookups for RVs.

Umbagog Lake State Park

About 70 miles northwest of Twin Mountain lie the southern shores of Umbagog Lake, home of Umbagog Lake State Park. The park offers a scenic lakeside camping experience with plenty of canoeing, kayaking, and swimming opportunities. At the western shore, Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge provides a unique habitat for diverse wildlife, including moose, waterfowl, and bald eagles. Then, set up at the park’s base campground that has two cabins and 27 campsites with electrical and water hookups, along with 33 remote campsites and four remote cabins around the lake. The base campground is also outfitted with flush and pit toilets, coin-op showers, and a camp store.

Mount Blue State Park

About 90 miles east across the New Hampshire-Maine border lies Mount Blue State Park. The largest state park in Maine, Mount Blue comprises about 8,000 acres with Webb Lake at its center. The park is tucked within the Western Mountains and offers year-round recreation, from guided canoe trips and walks in summer to sledding and cross-country skiing in winter. The park manages its own campground with over 130 campsites equipped with flush toilets, showers, and potable water. The campground has both reservable and first-come, first-served RV campsites with electric and water hookups, as well as a nearby boat launch.

When to go

Summer months are the most popular time of year in Twin Mountain. July is typically the hottest month with an average high of 76°F. In fall, campers can see the changing foliage, while wintertime campers will enjoy snow activities. February sees a high of 25°F and low of 8°F, with an average 17.44 feet of snow. Although many parks in the area stay open in the offseason, they may have closed facilities and less maintenance.
