While Taylors Falls doesn’t have a natural waterfall, the dam boasts river views, and hiking opportunities along the St. Croix. Rapids under the Highway 8 bridge make for another great way to admire the powerful river. Stay close to the water in a log cabin or safari tent, and consider making your way further north to Wild River State Park.

Gandy Dancer Trail

Campers can explore 98 miles of the wide, comfortable, car-free, gravel Gandy Dancer Trail that starts in St. Croix and runs north. For a lighter excursion, try the 14-mile Stower Seven Lakes State Trail.
