You will not be disappointed in this small campground with only 4 primitive tent sites and 2 tiny cabins. It's so peaceful and the tranquility will not take long to make you so relaxed, you will not want to leave. The sound of song birds in the morning with your cup of coffee is exactly what we need along with the sound of the water from the creek and/or pond. 

You can plug in with our free WIFI or unplug and enjoy the surroundings.

Sebec Lake is a 5 minute walk from the campground and there are pontoon rentals at the bottom of the hill. There is a yoga instructor on the lake that will do paddle board yoga in groups of at least 5. We offer several board games, as well as outdoor games. We have been working on creating a playground for the young kids. There is 1 Kayak for rent here and working on more. We offer hammocks for use and have already put the hangers in the trees.

We recently added hot showers and flushing toilets (although we still keep some portable potties around in case the bathroom is occupied).

Deering Acres Campground

George Deering owned these acres and worked as a farmer in the early to mid 1900's, my parent's acquired the property in 1991 and it has since been passed on to me.

Howling Goat Farm and Grange

Come visit a converted Grange hall that was MOVED to its current location 10 years ago! Nestled on 35 beautiful acres, it gives you the chance to choose meadow or forest camping along with meeting some new animal friends!Learn more about this land:Come join us on Howling Goat Farm where you can pitch a tent on our field site for a front row seat of the night sky and a spectacular view of the Milky Way. OR we have a secluded site in our wooded area that you are more than welcome to stay in for a more private experience! We are a non-conventional camping area where we don't want anyone to think that they are sardines stuffed into a tiny lot. We keep our bookings to a minimum so more often than not you'll have a whole field to yourselves with more privacy than any other campground. We hope you'll join us for a few days of farm life and the simplicity that we can provide.  We are within 4 miles of 95 and  centrally located between Rangeley, Baxter, Moosehead and Acadia National Park.

Maine Primitive Skills School

The land was purchased by Mike and Karen Douglas in 1996 and has been the site of their residence and that of Maine Primitive Skills School, which teaches Wilderness Awareness, Survival and Self-Reliance Skills to hundreds of students from around the country and the globe each year. The land is split by Church Hill Road. The west side of the road is where the majority of the school's facilities are located and where most of the day-to-day activities take place. The plot east of the road is used for overnight experiences and as a place to observe animal tracks and sign. The forest here is a classroom as much as it is a garden. It has been tended with a caretaker attitude for two decades to increase the bounty of edible foods for animals and humans alike. We hope that all our visitors can enjoy and carry on this tradition by participating conscientiously with our sacred forest.Learn more about this land:Park your car at our parking lot near the road. Cross the boardwalk over the wetland. Walk through the clearing up a slight incline, to the trail-head, through the mixed hardwood forest, to a secluded campsite where you can watch the stars and listen to the sounds of the forest in the privacy of your campsite. Over 1000 acres of quiet State Wildlife Management land sits adjacent to our plot of land and is yours to explore! If you're up for a hike, follow the ATV trail to Spectacle Pond which is a 100-acre lake with an island in the middle. There are two disc golf courses within walking distance down the road from the trail-head if that's more your style.  We run Maine Primitive Skills School, and the main facilities are located across the road. We rent out this area of the property to campers when we are not utilizing it for courses. Feel free to come on over and say hi! Sebasticook millennium Green

Part of an early 19th century farming community which faded into history well over a hundred years ago. Since then, it has been used exclusively for hunting, trapping and timber harvest.  Other then a few scattered seasonal hunting camps, this is a privately owned uninhabited / undeveloped tract of land on the Eastern banks of the Seabasticook River watershed.

Primitive Tent Camping within a mixed wood forest. Located ten miles East of Waterville, Maine or Six miles West of Unity, Maine.  The Sebasticook Millennium Green is a terraced 207 acre forest with over 18 miles of trails. Vehicle access is via a seasonal town road with parking a short walk from campsites.  There are four unimproved sites with picnic tables and fire rings that will only accommodate one tent.  These sites are accessible with a regular vehicle and located a short distance from the marginally maintained (dirt) town road.  We try to provide firewood for the sites when possible and campers are welcome to gather downed wood to use.  There is a fifth site (ridge) that is a mile hike through the woods or accessible via 4wd vehicle, this site has room for four tents, has a large firepit, three picnic tables and an outhouse.

Back Forty Camping at its best

The land our farm is on has been in my family for generations.   It was originally part of my Great Grand Fathers dairy farm.   We took over this section of the land to create our own farm several years ago.  We raise beef, pork, chicken, and goats to sell.   We also have several horses on the farm.    The camping spot has been used by our family for years hosting “back forty” parties and weekend getaways.  The pond was dug by my grandfather over 40 years ago for irrigation.    It is no longer used for that and has become a wonderful frog pond that is stocked with trout.    Over the last few years, we upgraded the camping area with a shed, outhouse, fire pit and granite bench, and a bean hole bean pit.  The shed is used for firewood storage and other camp items.     We have direct access to the ATV/Multi use trail system that can take you all over Central Maine.   We have mowed waking trails around the property and acres of woods to explore.
