Want a unique vacation? Everyone loves the idea of their own island. Peaceful, quiet and away from it all. In recent years we even have a nesting bald eagle pair! Our cottage is rustic, no running water and no electricity and only accessible via boat! We have a propane stove, refrigerator, and lanterns. Guests must bring water and small propane canisters for their stay. Guests are required to clean before departure. Bathroom is within the cottage and has an odor free composting toilet. For showering needs we have a camp style solar shower. Bedroom has a full-size bed. Crow's nest has a small futon that opens for an additional bed for one. The $375 fee is the cost of the boat captain to make one trip to deliver you and your gear to the island and one to take you back. If you will be coming in your own boat or kayak, please let us know and we can refund that fee if we aren't hiring the captain. Depending on the captain's schedule often arrival is the last trip of day and departure is 8 am. Additional trips can be arranged with our captains as well as sightseeing tours. Please note the captain charges $25 to transport a pet. We have a dock if you would be interested in bringing your own boat. Boat rentals also available nearby. Arrival and departure times are dependent on the captain's availability. See Bald eagles and seals. You can fish for striped bass right off the island. Water views from every window. The upper floor of the cottage is the Crow's nest (a tiny space accessible from a ladder below,) in the treetops with great sunset views. Bring your kayaks! Crow Island was mentioned in the book "Rivers of Memory" by John Gibson To quote Rachel Field, “If once you have slept on an island. You’ll never quite be the same.”

We built this cabin recently with siblings and a few skilled friends to make a getaway place for the extended family. Just 2 miles off Rte. One our location is quiet and perfect for exploring the midcoast of Maine - a short drive to many favorite places! The cabin is built on property adjacent to our fruit farm which is slowly building up to full production with a kiwi orchard planted, ramps seeded, and a producing strawberry hoophouse for early ripening fruit. We move our horse and pony around to different fields during the warmer months, and keep pekin ducks (the white ones) (now all in retirement!). The farm is 78+ acres with logging roads and is located on a quiet road. Food markets and some good places to eat are within 6-7 miles. There is an outdoor shower, a nice outhouse, a campstove, oil lamps etc - so it's is very old fashion yet comfortable cabin stay! Bring your own towels and maybe some candles. Plenty of board games, and maps of our local hikes and places to explore. If you come in the fall you should know that the roof is insulated but the walls are not - so layer up, bring extra blankets, and hugging the woodstove might be necessary! You'll enjoy the screened porch in all kinds of weather.

Continuous Harmony Farm is located on the north side of Camden Hills State Park. When this area was originally settled, the farm was located on the "highway" from Camden to seasonal pastures in Lincolnville. The trails leading to the park still go by the old foundations that dotted the old Government Road from Camden. The farm has 46 acres of flowing pasture, hardwood forest and flower and vegetable gardens. Learn more about this land: Private 1.5 acre field off of Staples Point Road, 3 miles from downtown Freeport, 1 mile to Winslow Park. Field is surrounded mostly by forrest, only non-drinking water provided from the garden hose at the entrance to the field. Water is shut off late October through the winter but the site is available. Whatever you bring in, you take out; garbage, human waste, etc. There is a camp fire with benches, plenty of fire wood and a luggable loo if needed.

My girlfiend and I had a wonderful stay at the Black Point Surf Club and would definitely go back! Frederick was a wonderful host, friendly and responsive to our questions. The location is super close to Scarborough beach (parking pass provided with the rental) and Higgins beach and is a couple minute walk from an awesome farmstand and ice cream shop! Fredrick provided surf boards, boogie boards, and beach chairs which was fun and convenient!
