Queenslake - Classic KY Horse Farm

14 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents140 acres · Georgetown, KY
A long time ago, in a land far away, there lived a beautiful princess who dreamed of a spacious and beautiful farm. She fancied horses running playfully in the pastures; plenty of goats, geese, chickens, dogs, and cats roaming freely. She saw herself sitting beside a large lake under a willow tree, sipping tea or lemonade every afternoon just before her nap. Then one day, a prince came along and said, "As You Wish." Queenslake is a 140 acre working horse farm with a 40 acre fishing lake with three barns and 30 horse pastures. Trails are located around the lake and through the forest for hiking, jogging, biking, ATV, horses. Great scenery. Awesome sunrises/sunsets.

Close to Adventure

1 site · RV, Tent44 acres · Frenchburg, KY
My place is secluded and peaceful. Its a wooded country setting and is a primitive site. There are no facilities or utilities, there is an outhouse/self composting (follow up your business with dropping leaves in after). It may not be suitable for children as there are active brush/wood burn piles on the land. See all photos and ask questions, please. I want it to be enjoyable for all who book. It’s also noteworthy that there are dogs in the area that roam free, it’s way out in the country, there are no leash laws. I’ve never had any issues with unfriendly dogs, but always be aware. It’s at a dead end road, no thru traffic. You can stay and enjoy some amazing stargazing, (there is minimal lighting and a very dark, clear view of the night sky) and lots of peace and quiet or explore the Daniel Boone National Forest surrounding the property or travel a short distance and see so many nearby amazing areas…Red River Gorge, Natural Bridge State Park, NADA Tunnel, Sky Bridge, Cave Run Lake, Twin Knobs and Zilpo Recreation Areas, Carter Caves State Park, Grayson Lake, Rudy’s Ranch. Red Dog Ridge Campground

1 site · Tent8 acres · Clay City, KY
Learn more about this land:Almost to the top of the developed landscape above Clay City, Ky, outside of most light pollution from the big cities, is a tiered piece of land with a creek running through it. Clay City is less than 30 Minutes to; Red River Gorge, Pilot Knob, and Natural Bridge. At the bottom of the hill is a lake for paddling and fishing, and you cross the Red River coming and going to the property. Any sort of outdoor activity including paddling in an old mine or top rope climbing in the gorge. I live at the far end of the field over looking the creek, with my dog who the property is named after, so if their are any issues I am near by. There are 3 seperate areas located in the forest, and along the creek, for individual parties or small groups to camp. A recreation trail for walking/hiking or mountain biking (If you just have to get on your bike after being in the car and would like something better than the parking lot) is available on the land starting at the end of the parking lot by the entrance. At the moment there is only primitive camping available, but plans for off grid cabins, and open air shelters are in the works.
