Open Pasture Paradise

Very High Elevation in the Open Pasture Area!  We own 200 acres of all types of terrain. There is a very large pasture for camping and a hunters' apartment for rent. Our property is surrounded by thousands of acres of unoccupied land.We have an apartment set up with 4 bunk bed sets for hunters, with a bathroom and kitchen. There is no stove, but double hot plates, toaster oven, microwave, crock pots, refrigerator, etc. It is not at all fancy, but is certainly usable for short-term lodging. It will accommodate 8 people easily and more on inflatable mattresses or cots.

Very High Elevation open pasture. You can see waaaayyy out in the distance. Beautiful Open Country!!

Burdoc Farms is nestled in the idyllic natural green hills. Burdoc Farms offers a true and relaxed experience for your once in a lifetime event.With over 650 acres of open fields and forest, Burdoc Farms has been in the Shepherd family for over 80 years. The farm was once a tobacco and cattle farm, producing national champion Shorthorn Beef Cattle in the 60’s. When Keith and Sara Shepherd took over operations in the 90’s the farm was converted to a conservation farm, with timber management, wildlife habitat, recreation and agritourism becoming the main focus of farm operations.

We love sharing our farm with other conservation minded guest, but if you need access to modern amenities we can accommodate you too. We have over 10 miles of trails to explore nature on your own. If you just want to sit by a fire and relax we have a communal fireplace or fire pit. We have a pond for fishing or swimming whatever you heart desires. Pets are allowed and welcome. Kickin' Grass Farm

We are  a chemical free, drug free farm raising pastured livestock and poultry. We are land healers on this great crusade to grow quality pastures to raise nutrient dense proteins! We have a wonderful view of the hills of Kentucky on 140 acres of pasture and woodlands. We grow poultry (chickens and turkey), cattle, sheep and pigs. Our farm is aromatically and visually pleasing. We are non-conventional in our methods and pride ourselves in the fact our path is to sustainability and sharing with all!  Learn more about this land:Pitch your tents or sleep under the stars (and yes, you can see stars here) under a magical oak and hickory canopy. **PLEASE READ**
Guest have free roam of our backyard oasis including fire pit, patio, cabana, hammocks, swing, Boy Scout campsite, and use of our outdoor kitchen.  A park grill & picnic table are installed at the camp site. The site is level packed gravel, and the drive is blacktop.  

The site has 15 & 30A only - no 50A.  Water is available from our house, but will require use of 75-100 ft of hose (you can also fill jugs and carry).  A RV dump is provided off by itself - not at the campsite for hookup.

The site is in a small town on a dead end road that is good for walking and biking in the evenings.   There is a 1 mi woodland trail behind the community center  2 blocks away that leads to a rocky creek. 

We are within an hour of Mammoth Cave National Park, Peace Valley Amish Market, Rough River State Park, Nolin River State Park, the Lincoln Trail and Birthplace, the Corvette Plant and Museum, Beech Bend Park & Dragway, Owensboro Riverfront,  NCM Motorsport Park, the Bourbon Trail (Bardstown), Bernheim Forest, and My Old Kentucky  Home.

We are 1-1/2-2 hr from Louisville, KY, Evansville, IN, and Nashville, TN.
