Great spot for families. They have activities every most weekend for kids, two parks, a dog park, some hiking trails, and ponds to fish in. My family has enjoyed the stay here.

Weekend Trip to Seven Oaks

Me and my girlfriend camped and everything went smoothly! Our doggo enjoyed the thick grass and all the land. The best part was seeing the stars at night definitely a good place to stargaze. JQ was very responsive and checked up on us accordingly. It’s always nice to know the owner cares about who is staying on the land. Definitely recommend a truck driving to the campsite but our little honda did just fine since it hadn’t rained previously.

Loved it. So chill. My kids kept saying how nice JQ was. He taught my boy how to fish in his pond. Look forward to going back again. Really appreciate the experience!

Weekend Trip to Seven Oaks

We stayed in the River Bottom section and absolutely loved it! John supplies wood and plenty of camp sites. There were hunting stands and view points in plenty of spots. We heard coyotes from the other side of the river at night and turkeys in the morning. There were views of the river close to the site. We used 4x4 to get down to the site but the dirt road was well taken care of. It did end up raining and John was proactive in reaching out offering to help us get out of that section if we needed it. He was always very communicative and I knew if I had a problem I could just reach out which was very appreciated. I would absolutely recommend this site to anyone wanting to camp near KC.

It is a great site very quiet and chill caught plenty of fish in the pond and the host was very nice and very responsive to my questions.

Price is extremely reasonable for the area. The plot isn’t level, but Wesley had blocks sufficient to level out the trailer and was around if we needed any help! The sunsets were gorgeous! There were friendly animals which my kids liked to play with (caution to those allergic to cats, one cat is very friendly and will come to you for attention). Only con was the location is off a main road which had the occasional loud car pass by. Overall, the perfect place to stay if you’re needing to be close to Ottawa, Lawrence or Gardner, KS which are all within a 15-25 minute drive away depending on where in town you need to be!

Absolutely lovely place to camp. The staff/owners are very helpful and friendly. I even got to play with the baby goats! If you’re looking for a rustic place to camp where you also have access to a real toilet and shower, this is the place. I’m already planning my trip back!

Had a great time with a group of six with a few tents. Lots of room to set up, and the area is secluded and remote enough to feel somewhat private. Hiked around the area and down by the river. Can’t recommend it enough. Just ideal for our needs.

My two daughters and I spend two nights on Treloar Ranch and enjoyed our time. We set up in the back of the property and had no issues getting to our site. The hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed the farm fresh eggs we added on. My daughters were totally smitten with Gus and would return if only to visit him :)

There are 40 acres of hardwood timber on the Platte river and 10 acres of grass and wildflowers; Miles of rustic trails for hiking or biking, some appropriate for hayrides; picnic table and a 300 sq. ft. treehouse with hammocks for relaxation; Play a game of Cornhole; Fish in our pond or the Platte river. Kayak available but must use life vests. We are 15 minutes from Smithville lake boat ramp. We are limiting the 40 acres of timber to five groups of campers to provide privacy and seclusion for all. Topside RV/Camper Site includes the newly refurbished 28 ft. camper that sleeps 4 comfortably. The Hickory Forest RV/tent site has water and RV power hookups available. The lower level has three other tent camp sites available. WARNINGS! Hazards on our property include, but are not limited to: Biting insects, wild animals, dead fall trees (especially on the river bottom), slick and muddy approach to the river. In general, keep in mind you are camping in a timber and nature happens!

The property has numerous sites where you can private pasture your horses, work them in our private round pens, and trail ride them in the hundreds of miles of trails that intersect the property. These are VERY large and private campsites with no nosey or loud neighbors. Sites are for primitive camping, RVs needing electric hookups via available generators, fresh water. Lakefront sites or forest sites are available. Showers, toilets, AC Clubhouse, playground, ponies, pet pigs, goats, and chickens. Pet friendly. Group camping for up to 25 people. Great for weddings, birthdays, etc We are just a short drive from four larger state lakes. An abundance of good restaurants are just ten minutes away, and sometimes we take a trail ride to eat Mexican or BBQ in the village close by.
