From historic mill demonstrations to Wabash River floats, camping near Cayuga is a unique retreat.
An hour and a half outside Indianapolis, Cayuga is a popular base camp for exploring western Indiana. Make new friends at a private campsite on a working alpaca farm, or embrace the serenity of the woodlands at a private waterfront site on Wabash River. For camping with a touch of history, head to Turkey Run State Park and visit the Colonel Richard Lieber Cabin to learn the stories behind Indiana state parks. Stay overnight at one of 213 electric campsites next to a camp store and a dump station. Refresh with a swim in the pool, have a picnic beside Sugar Creek, or take a guided riding adventure to the Saddle Barn before leaving. More camping areas await at Racoon State Recreation Area, where a variety of electric and primitive campsites are available around Cecil M. Harden Lake. Campers can also enjoy a playground, restrooms, and a camp store in the developed campground. Then, check out the Historic Mansfield Roller Mill for a working corn grinding demonstration.
