Rugged C's Ranch

3 sites · RVs, Tents35 acres · Fort Pierce, FL
We purchased our property in 2017 and longed for the dream to build a home. Well, we built that home. We are now ready to share our place where we find so much tranquility with others. You can see how the old orange groves worked as we haven't filled in all the furrows yet. The old orange Grove is now home to cattle, horses, goats, ducks, and our little family. Learn more about this land: Bring your RV away from the hustle and bustle of the city to the wide open spaces of the country. The only sounds you'll hear are cows mooing, goats baaing, and horses neighing. Sunsets and the stars are a site to see out here. THE PROPERTY: The owners live on the property with their 2 children and are willing to be helpful in anyway. Children are more than welcome to tag along. Being kid friendly is a plus for us as our kids might be running around enjoying their property. Can't forget dog friendly either. Our dogs love to greet our guests. NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: If beaches are on your agenda, South Causeway and Fort Pierce Inlet State Park are only 25 minutes from the beach! Our favorite place to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner is Carter's Grocery, which is only 4 minutes from our property. ACTIVITIES: We have chickens that lay eggs and are great for eating so if you'd like some fresh eggs, feel free to go over to their house and grab some. We have a Pavillion with a fire pit that is welcomed to be used. Our dock provides a look out on our pond. Please feed the fish some food if you'd like. Also, take time to fish in our pond and catch some tilapia or blue gill. The kids have a blast fishing as the fish are easy to catch. THE SPACE: The site you'll be staying at is close to the owners house. There are 2 parking spots on asphalt that are available for the campers vehicles or park directly at your site. The ground will be grass that the camper will park on. Please note: we have 2 gates with gate codes that shut automatically. Please be sure each gate closes behind you! We have free roaming cattle and other farm animals outside the camping area. We are always open to recommendations on how we can make your stay even better! We cant wait to share our property with you and hopefully you'll find our place as somewhere you'd love to return!

3 sites · RVs, Tents1 acre · Port Salerno, FL
Greetings Hipcampers! Thank you for considering your tent camping adventures on this site, we look forward to welcoming you! Here’s some information about the general area. If you don’t need it, just skip down to the “About us” section. Our property is located in the Sailfish capital of the country in the heart of Historic Port Salerno/Stuart Florida. World class deep sea fishing, boating, and some of the finest seafood restaurants on the east coast are less a mile away. We’re just 5 miles from downtown Stuart on the Inland waterway that offers a lovely walkable downtown where you will find a theater, unique art studios, interesting and unique craft and clothing shops, and numerous restaurants offering everything from vegan and vegetarian options, to pizza, steak, and local seafood. If you’re looking for fast food franchises in the downtown areas, you’ll need to look elsewhere! Only 11 miles from Jonathan Dickinson State Park known for it's expansive scrub and wildlife habitat, you will find excellent hiking, birding, and great bicycling (on and off road) trails as well as kayaking adventures through the mangroves. Kayak and bicycle rentals are available near the launch site. Daily excursions are also available from the launch site to the infamous legend Trapper Nelson’s hideaway. A must do for adventurous types who appreciate legends and creative off grid living. We are nestled in a bird paradise in a quiet park-like setting located on the edge of a beautiful Lake at the end of a dead end road. The location offers a natural walking path with 3 foot bridges around the lake. Our property is off the beaten path but has very easy accessibility to all major roads including interstate 95. Grocery stores, Walmart, gas stations all within a mile or two. Our camp sites provide you a peaceful stay while still being close to all you seek. This location makes for a great stop over or destination spot. About us: Please note: This is a tent camp site only. We can not accommodate a truck camper, a pull behind, Van camper, or anything other thing than a ground pitched tent. What you can expect to find at our listing: The surface of the tent site is mostly flat with a mix of grassy and sandy type soil usually with some covering of native pine needles. Our 1/2 acre property is naturally-forested with several towering eastern slash pines and palm trees, and several fruit trees. Guests will wake in the morning to the lovely site and peaceful sounds of the mostly year round residents including pileated & red-bellied woodpeckers, black vultures, raccoons, egrets, ibis, hawks, quaker parrots, herons, bluejays, grackles, crows, lizards, mourning doves, gray squirrels, owls, hawks, and occasional sightings of iguanas and turtles. We’ve yet to see an alligator here! Let us know if you spot one! Nights tend to be dark and quiet by the lake offering a world away from the hustle and bustle with minimal traffic noise. A train can sometimes be heard in the distance. We are family and pet friendly provided your pet is too! Please be respectful and responsible in bringing along a leash and your own pet waste bags. Please pack out what you pack in. There is either a porta potty or a compost toilet near the tent site. Please be aware it is a compost porta-potty type and is located within its own small tent structure. Be sure you understand that this is definitely not a flush toilet. We don’t want you to be disappointed. You will be asked to cover your deposits with the sawdust and mulch material provided. electricity for charging small devices is available along with city/potable water from a hose located about 50' from the campsite. Please, no generators. There is no wifi but cell reception tends to be very good. A fire pit located about 50’ from the camp site may be available for your enjoyment depending upon current fire conditions and restrictions. Please advise host in advance if you plan to use the fire pit, and please remember to bring your own firewood! Bundles can be purchased from a residence around the corner, and kindling can be gathered from around the site. We do not currently have an outdoor kitchen or cooking utensils so please remember to bring your own supplies. Smoking is permitted. Please advise host in advance so that we can provide an appropriate container to safely extinguish cigarettes. Please be considerate of neighbors when enjoying your music. Thank you! Check in time is about 2pm but very flexible depending upon availability. Check out is noon unless prior arrangements are made. We will happily answer any questions or concerns you may have upon arriving and then we’ll respect your privacy and solitude unless you desire more interaction. We look forward to your arrival! Valhalla Prairie Farm

2 sites · RVs, Tents10 acres · Okeechobee, FL
Welcome to Valhalla Prairie Farms, a 10-acre oasis located on the prairie in Okeechobee, FL. If you are traveling and need a private place to stop and unwind, Valhalla is your place. Want to get away from noise and regather your thoughts, we got you! Want to let your dog run free and get away from the city? Bring your dogs, they will thank you! You will be 4 miles from the Kissimmee Prairie State Park. The prairie is the darkest part of Florida. Astronomers, bring your telescopes and cameras to capture the night. We are located 25 minutes from Okeechobee City, the bass fishing capital of the world, and 45 minutes to Fort Pierce. We are also 35 miles from Sebring International Raceway. You will possibly see, cows, wild turkeys, wild pigs, armadillos, birds, or the neighbors dogs might show up. Don’t worry, they are quite friendly. We have a 50 amp RV Hookup with NO septic and plenty of space for primitive camping. Bring your horse, but there is no paddock or barn. The storage building on the premises is not part of the rental, please leave it alone. There is electricity and non-potable water. The water is safe for teeth brushing, washing dishes, and showering, but it does have a very strong smell of sulfur. 1/3 of the land is cleared and 2/3 is full of mature oak trees and trails. It is fenced with barbed wire fencing. There is an outside sink, an outside shower with no privacy, a picnic table and a fire pit,. As of right now, if you come to primitive camp, there is NO TOILET! You must dig a hole and bury your stuff. In the future we will put in a basic bathroom. If you come with your RV, please use your RV toilet. There will be a major fine for any septic dumping. Please keep your food trash in your cars. You do not want to attract bob cats, coyotes, panthers, or any other predator passing through the area to your camp. Keep an eye on your small dogs. There are also snakes and predatory birds. You can recycle, or throw away any trash that is not related to food in the garbage can / recycle bin. Things you must know! PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! This is a place for outdoor enthusiasts. It is full of the most beautiful views of the stars, peace and quiet, and you will be left alone to write a book, let your children run free, meditate, or just relax. This is not a place right now for glampers, people afraid of nature, or people that cannot deal with bugs!!! During certain times of the year and certain times of the day, there are a million bugs! We stay inside during these times. During the daytime it is VERY HOT in the summer, so unless you have an RV with A/C, or are used to this, please do not plan on staying in the summer. It is hard with words to describe the beauty of this property, so please check out the pictures. Happy camping!

FireFly Farm

1 site · RV5 acres · Indiantown, FL
A small family owned and operated 5 acre pasture raised poultry farm. This is a working farm that sells poultry meat and eggs to the local community. If you have ever wondered what it might be like to live on a poultry farm -- this is it! Depending on the time of year there may also be bee hives located on the far back or very front of our pastures. Due to biosecurity measures you do not have full access to roam the entire farm and pastures. However, the RV spot is placed with a view of most farm activities. Our farm is home to free roaming hens, roosters, geese, quail, guinea fowl, ducks, turkeys and pigs. We have 4 livestock guardian dogs that keep our animals safe from predators. Both the birds and the dogs do make noise, so please keep that in mind. It's all part of farm life ! While we love animals and would love to invite your pets to stay, due to the nature of our guardian dogs we do not allow any pets. There is grated spot for your RV with electric, water and septic hook-ups. Our farm is in operation 7 days a week and there may be poultry processing that is completed during your stay.

RV camping near Vero Beach with electricity hookup and water hookup guide

Overview

Experience crashing waves on Atlantic seashores, expansive plains, marshes, and everglades while camping near Vero Beach. On the east coast of the state, Vero Beach is a small community surrounded by sea and land adventures, along with unique wildlife spotting opportunities. Walk nearby John D. MacArthur Beach for a chance to see sea turtles nesting on the sands; cycle through the massive Kissimmee Prairie, which sits inland from Vero Beach; or hike through area nature preserves—such as J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area, which supports vital marsh and slash pine forest habitats. Discover an abundance of camping options in Vero Beach, from beachfront campgrounds to lakeside RV parks.

Where to go

John D. MacArthur Beach State Park

A short drive south from Vero Beach, John D. MacArthur Beach is one of the most popular waterfronts in the area. Best known as the nesting ground for hundreds of leatherback and green sea turtles each summer, this beach is also a destination for hiking and cycling on the nearby nature trails and viewing subtropical flora and fauna. Facing the mainland, the waters are calm and ideal for kayaking, fishing, swimming, snorkeling, and even scuba diving. The park houses a few campsites, many offering views of Lake Worth Lagoon.

J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area

Spanning 60,000 acres of cypress swamps, pine flatwoods, and tropical hardwood hammocks, J.W. Corbett WMA is a subtropical treasure trove for hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping. This region is teeming with wildlife, including white-tailed deer, turkeys, and feral hogs (which attract hunters), as well as bobcats, racoons, otters, and a few rare and endangered species of birds. The park sits near Lake Okeechobee, where Hipcampers can find lakeside glamping accommodations.

Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park

To the west of Vero Beach is Kissimmee Prairie, a state park covering 54,000 acres of expansive prairies and dry grasslands. An essential part of the Everglades headwaters, this striking biome formed from a long-running cycle of flooding and wildfires. Today, it’s a unique ecosystem of dry prairies perfect for birdwatching, hiking, and cycling. Kissimmee Prairie is also known for its spectacular stargazing far from city light pollution. Check into a farmland campground or stay the night at a nearby RV park, then enjoy an unbelievable view of the Milky Way with no need for binoculars or a telescope.

When to go

As a subtropical region, Vero Beach’s temperatures are agreeable year-round. Hot, humid summer days reach into the 90s, and winter days dip only as low as 50°F in the coldest months. Summer is the rainiest time of year in Vero Beach, so campers should bring adequate rain protection when camping in the area between May and September.
