Steinhatchee sits on a river of the same name. The town leads right into the Gulf of Mexico, so many camping spots come with coastal views and beach access. The wildlife preserve comes with hiking trails, as well as recreation areas, picnic tables, and boat ramps. The area’s most unique charm, however, is its wildlife. While camping, you’re likely to spot birds, fish, and up to 100 species of butterflies. Clearly, both campers and animals thrive in this diverse habitat.
