We had a great stay at Penny Lane! Mark and his wife were welcoming and made sure we had everything (50 to 30 converter). Their land is nestled amongst pet horses, chickens and moss covered oaks. I was peaceful yet minutes from Mount Dora and several hiking trailheads.

While I was in Mark's front yard, I felt like I was a world away at my own farm. This wonderfully flat and clear site faces the horses and the nursery at the front of the property. It's far enough out to feel like you're in the countryside, but close enough to everything to feel like you're in the city. Just 15 minutes from Mt. Dora and 45 from the Lake Apopka Wilderness Drive, a perfect recommendation from Mark, Pennylane Farm is a perfect spot.

Weekend Trip to At Shady Oaks

After a late night out, I started my second day at The Oaks with an early coffee run and breakfast, then came back to soak in the scenery—and that’s when I was like I have to stay again. The property is incredibly quiet and beautiful, with a peaceful energy that’s hard to find. I hadn’t had much downtime the day before, but this morning gave me a chance to check things out. I took a ride up to the Citrus Tower and enjoyed another coffee at their fantastic little shop, then spent the rest of the morning thrifting at local shops (always a favorite pastime). Later, I made my way to Lake Louisa—my absolute favorite spot in the area—and honestly, I want going to go there but I needed to see more nature. And it didn’t disappoint . I’m already thinking about coming back for a longer stay just to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. For anyone looking for a solid base near Disney but away from the “bubble”, or Clermont, or Orlando. This is the spot for you. Oh, and I almost forgot so as I was walking around and the couple times that I came in and out on the driveway, I noticed the property has a bunch of hidden gems basically art. All hidden and nestled within the property in the trees, a bunch of purpose items which is right up my alley.

I booked last-minute for a quick trip that included visiting friends in Clermont and heading into downtown Orlando that evening. The location was ideal—just a few miles from my friends and close enough to Disney for easy back-and-forth drives. The host asked me to text or call about 15 minutes before arrival so they could meet me at the road, wave me in, and guide me directly to my site. That kind of personal touch made arrival smooth and stress-free. Though I didn’t spend much time at the property itself, I slept incredibly well. The site was quiet, stable, and felt safe—perfect for recharging. Everything was exactly as described, and the hosts were responsive and accommodating.

Weekend Trip to Riverside Retreat

We had a great time. We had our dog with us which is always a bonus. Our hosts helped us with whatever we needed and addressed any concerns we had quickly and attentively. We came for the river access and enjoyed it very much. Though they live nearby and there was another family renting another RV, it felt pretty private. We enjoyed the treehouse spot, the fishing dock, and the comfort of the RV at the end of each night. We’ll definitely be back! Thanks again!

Ou weekend trip to the area went perfect. There was very litte we need to leave for. There was great fishing spot for my children. Kyake use was included. Several grills to chose from even an area for projecting a movie. RV was well maintained and fully stocked in case you forget your own stuff. We really enjoyed ourselves and thank the Host for greeting us.

This was an awesome experience for my husband, myself and two grandsons aged 12 & 13. We live in SW Florida and love to camp. I stumbled across this amazing property on Hipcamp. It was like camping in the best possible place in Florida. A very comfortable RV that slept the four of us quite comfortably. Very well equipped kitchen but no oven. The best part was outside. The property sits right on the Withlacoochee River and kayaks are included so my grandsons were able to master the art of paddling while we were there. The rest of the time they were fishing and every time they cast their lines, they would have a blue gill on their hook within five minutes, we counted at least thirty fish between them. They have dartboards, toys, fire pits, beautiful lighting at night. This would be a great place for a family reunion or a group of friends if they like the outdoor life. Sandra and her husband were awesome hosts. We plan on going back soon.

It is gorgeous. I mean the views are spectacular. Nicest people. Clean, well kept and accommodating. I got to relax. I love how loving the cats are. Grounds are kept nice. No trees where I set up my tent so I was able to enjoy my surroundings views of the sky and the sunset. The horses. I would definitely recommend this place. Everything was perfect. There are so many parks and aces to fish. It is such a nice location. Thank you again and again. Also, the horses were well behaved and they show you the horses. You can give them noses scratches and visit them if you'd like. Carrots, they like carrots and pieces of apple.

We LOVED this location. Remote and yet close enough to friends that we were able to enjoy a night after our festivities to relax. ****IMPORTANT**** Unless you have stayed here before, I would advise arriving before the sun goes down. With its remote location, and technically “rural Florida”, you want to be sure you don’t find yourself on someone else’s private property. Thankfully, Brian has A-MAZING neighbors who happened to come by just when we were going back to our instructions on how to get to his property. He was so kind and said “follow me” and even proceeded to call Brian for us to let him know we were coming so he could meet us at the sites. We knew we would be coming in late (which we don’t prefer) but we had never been to this part of Florida before to understand its rural location. Rural is what we prefer, hence why I booked it, and we do know what to expect…but thank God for Brian and his neighbor. Brian is living a dream I have for us one day. Waking up to the quiet and trees surrounding us, only able to see what we assume is the helpful neighbor’s adjacent property. We WILL be back. For more than one night next time. The kindness we were shown was amazing and it’s a blessing to know those people still exist in our crazy world. In the morning, seeing the kids have fun outdoors was joyful. Making their own “slip n slide” and enjoying the sunshine and outdoors with each other. Love it! Thank you Brian and family…and neighbor…for a great experience. ❤️
