Good distance to/from Salida, while also feeling “off the grid”. Great views of the surrounding peaks. Suggest bringing warm layers for the cooler evenings and a warm comforter. Our dog prefers sleeping in his crate and the tent is big enough to setup in the corner. Recommend checking it out. Thank you!

We had a great weekend at this site! It's right on the river, and given the time of year (mid-September) the water level was down a bit and there were no rafters going by so the site was very private. There were a few fly fisherman, but that was it. Despite the light up on the hill that other's have noted (I think it's on an adjoining property) we thought the stars were pretty wonderful. My daughter and I commented that it was probably our favorite campsite we have been to on our annual camping trip. I would highly recommend. Some things to note: 1) While the owner's should probably pony up and provide a picnic table at the site (it would really improve the site), we brought a small folding table that worked out perfectly. 2) You have to load your equipment down a fairly steep wooden ramp so be prepared.

Amazing campsite! It is tucked into its own little corner, so you are secluded from all the other campers. Very clean and cool site! Right off of the Arkansas river, so you fall asleep to the sound of water. There is an outhouse just a short walk away that was very clean as well.

Nice set up close enough to town but not too close that you're in the mix. We stayed here as our homes base for Salida's bike fest weekend and worked out great.

Great spot—spacious, private, with good shade and easy access to the river. The steps down to the river are not for little kids, but are easy enough for tweens, teens, and adults. Fantastic site for a quick weekend getaway.

Lovely spot on the river! Felt secluded yet close to many things. It was neat to watch the boaters go down the river, I was jealous. I wanted to check out the brewery bar but spent the day at the Field of Vision festival. Next time!

Beautiful shaded campsite by the river. Easy access to the river and restrooms. There were fun games avs a play area for kids by the main office and brewery. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We look forward to coming again!

River view/access was gorgeous. Site #5 feels nice and shaded and secluded even though there are neighboring sights nearby. Highly recommend!

It’s true like other people have said in reviews that there is not a lot of privacy due to rafters in the river. But this is only during the rafting tour’s open hours, and we still had an amazing time wading in the river and setting up our site when they were open and on the river. After that, the sunset, campsite, sound of the river and fire pit were all worth it! Our dog also loved the location!

The campsite is very well placed !! It is isolated and private ,for a campground. The foliage creates a nice boundary between the rest of the area. The views are exceptional , you can step down to the riverbank easily. Yes , you can see the high ropes course to the left , but it’s just through a slight opening in the foliage , and yes you can see some people kayaking and rafting down the river , but that’s part of camping by the river :) I loved it and plan to come back soon !

This place worked well for what I was looking for. The tent is spacious and features a queen bed, a table, and a toilet (with a trash bag that you will need to take with you). The anarondak chairs are very comfortable and perfect for stargazing. There is not a lot of light pollution, so the stars are wonderful! You will need to bring all of your camping supplies with you, as it is more of a bare-bones spot, but plenty of space to set up a "kitchen" inside the tent, or outside on the picnic table. It's about 14 minutes from Salida, which is convenient. The owner has a good packing list and advice- I would follow it. Mainly, temperatures can drop significantly at night in this climate, so be sure to bring warm clothes and blankets. My pup and I had a relaxing evening.

Check in was easy but it took a bit of scanning to find the check in desk as it’s the check in desk for a few activities on the grounds as it host a couple of various other things as well. Nice space with access to a bathroom and water if needed.

Beautiful view of the river from our campsite, and loved hearing it at night as we slept! It was fun to watch the rafters go by during the day - we didn’t mind it, but if you wanted privacy that + being near the other campsites might not be your thing. It was also in a very convenient location next to rafting outfitters and a quick drive to BV.

Great little spot in a convenient location! There are a lot of nice places to hangout around the campsite. The area was clean and the portopotties were decent/had toilet paper. The group next to our campsite did stay up until 11pm talking loudly and their dog was barking. But we eventually fell asleep. If possible, I would recommend reserving one of the campsites closer to the river as the spots aren’t as close to the highway and aren’t as close to other campsites.
