Escape the hustle and bustle of city life as you unwind in my charming 120-square-foot (10 x 12 ft) tiny house, thoughtfully designed for comfort and functionality. We are located about 30 minutes north of Placerville in the Swansboro/Mosquito area. The cozy living accommodations has a key-less entry and features two sleeping areas: a tiny loft with a twin-sized bed and on the main floor, a small sofa that converts into a small bed that is 39 inches wide and 66 inches long. Sheets, comforters, and pillows are provided for the beds. There is a ceiling fan, small electric heater, and an air conditioner as well. The small kitchen provides all the essentials to whip up delicious meals including a two burner hot plate, pots and pans, toaster, french press, plates, bowls, and eating utensils, spices and condiments, as well as complimentary tea and coffee. The tiny bathroom includes a metal tub with a copper shower and a compostable toilet. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided. There are two chairs on the screened-in porch to enjoy the sunset in the evenings or your coffee/tea in the mornings. Situated a mere 10 minutes drive away is the pristine Finnon Lake, inviting you to indulge in a refreshing swim or a tranquil paddle amidst breathtaking scenery. The beautiful Rock Creek is just a 15-minute drive, promising invigorating water holes to swim or wade in. Wonderful forest hiking trails are also nearby in the El Dorado National Forest. The tiny house is a mere 25 feet from my own home but there is a bamboo privacy fence between us that will give you plenty of privacy. In addition, I have several small beautiful dogs on the property that may bark during the initial visit of guests. Small and simple in terms of amenities, but the host Chris is truly a host: watches out for you and gives good tips on local activities. There’s lots to do in the area for a long weekend. Don’t count on the WiFi though and cell signal is limited. If you want to disconnect, this is for you.

We loved our mini trip up in the hills away from all the noise. If you are looking for a nice relaxing stay this is the place to go. Well kept/pruned property with stunning views of the foresty hillsides. The property host Ernie was very nice as well & informed us of all the cool places locally to check out. *At&t signal is hit or miss but you can walk around to get a call or text out if needed!*

1 night at Palala Ranch

What a beautiful property! Super well maintained, provided everything for a perfect stay. We were wine tasting in Amador County, I have a couple wine clubs there. This property it’s about 20-25 minutes. From the wineries. We were the only camper that night, which always makes it nicer. But there was sufficient space for several other campers in a really nice communal area. I’m sure we would’ve made new friends. You have to bring your own water, no flush toilet but if you’re OK with those things like I am, it’s a great spot. The tint spot is on a flat part of the hill that gives you almost a 360° view you can see the lights of Sacramento in the evening and watch the sunrise. I plan on going back.

This was such a perfect, peaceful site! Ernie greeted us when we arrived and answered all questions. Great views and great location. We were able to check out Indian Grinding Rock State Park, and all the little towns around there! We will definitely be back there!!

We loved the spot, very open and expansive, nice and flat with nice views off in the distance at night. Remote spot, could need a four wheel drive vehicle to get a trailer to that site during the wet months. We visited early April.

Nice campground with beautiful view. Communication with Ernie were clear and directions too. We got the rv site with the full hookup, and honestly no complaints.
