We are stewards of this land, graciously grateful to grow food such as corn, broomcorn, pumpkins, flowers, and watermelons under the sun. This land is located less than 20 mins to multiple different Yuba River access points. We are also located in the Armpit of Nevada county with 3 access ways 15 mins each way to Grass Valley, Nevada City or Penn Valley. The neighborhood of this area is also one of the more safer bike friendlier places, you can ride into town along the NID trails, or set up camp and head up the 20HWY less than 20 mins to enjoy Epic Mountain Biking Trails. Not only are we crafty, but also nature enthusiasts to feel free to reach out and ask about fun things to do here, if you are looking to stay busy exploring the nature. We also have a beautiful sunset hike that overlooks some beautiful views. Oracle Oak Grove has a wide variety of camping options. We have a camp grounds on the lower end of the property that currently hosts 4 different camp sites. the 3 May Pole zone, and 1 Faerie fields. There is one shared Bonfire zone that can be used for friends camping together during the spring and late fall months when we are not in fire season. We love hosting groups and birthday parties. Also individual campers as well. We have two yurts available if you are more into the Glamping experience or especially if camping in the winter. The Witches Hut and The Little Witch Hut! The Witches Hut which is larger and can fit a family of 3 or 4. This hut includes a patio, grill, and Private entrance. The Little Witch Hut is smaller and more suitable for a couple or a single person wanting some solo retreat time. This one has cooking amenities accessible in an outdoor kitchen just outside the yurt. This one also gets better access to the Starlink available on the property. This yurt has the compost toilet outside and is a less than minute walk to it. Both yurts have the ability to park fairly close to them and both are fully furnished. The Yurts are available for a higher expense than the camping of course. We are sorry to say that Hot tub season is now closed. We do have a wood-fired Cedar Hot tub, she is our Cauldron she is only available during winter and very early spring visits. I am sorry, but due to fire season and her being wood-fired she is not available outside hot tub season. If you are interested in the experience it requires advanced noticed as well as an extra charge for wood, cleaning, and tending. She is a labor of love, and such a unique experience. Enjoy the smell of cedar, chlorine free waters under the stars. Enjoy and hopefully you come and experience the Magic we have made Stewarding these acres. PLEASE come check in before DARK. We are in a very Rural Area and it can be difficult to see a night where to park and camp. We have pathways and lights to guide, but there is a DESIGNATED parking zone and a cart available to carry your stuff to your CAMPSITE. This is not a CAR Camping spot there is ONE car camping site and the rest you is a very short walk to your site. Thank you.

This site is situated at the base of sinal mountain in Jackson Ca, just 3 miles off highway 88 and 49. It’s feels like it’s miles away from civilization, with a beautiful country road that meanders through gold country. Raley’s , tractor supply and lake tabeaud are only 3 miles away. We personally live here on 5 acres and have one acre dedicated to RV camping. Kirkwood ski resort is a 40 minute drive and South Lake Tahoe is 1.5 hours up 88. There are wonderful wineries in the Shenandoah Valley about 25 minutes away and the beautiful town of Sutter creek with shops, antiques and restaurants. The camp site is surrounded by oak trees and has a gravel ground to help keep dust down.

Please be aware that some wildlife species including rattlesnakes, bears, and mountain lions have been observed on the 117-acre property and could potentially be observed near the campsites. Day trips are possible to Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, Calaveras Big Trees State Park, local caverns and wine tasting, and historic gold towns.

A wonderful location and an even more wonderful host, Terry! He’s so welcoming and made sure we were well taken care of. The shared shower, porta potty and sink are all clean and well maintained. We had campsite #2 which was perfect for our part of two with plenty of space. During the day, we explored trails along the creek and enjoyed the beautiful nature around us. The creek water is clear and had fish too! While we did share the swimming hole and “beach side” area and chairs with others, it was still very enjoyable. One thing to that would help is better signage to exit the property. Other than that, it’s a big thumbs up for us!

Beautiful spot, super clear instructions, communicative and friendly host, very clean facilities. River is special and serene, and was a great spot for the kids to explore. LOVED the campfire setup on the beach, it was perfect for us to safely roast some hot dogs and smores later in the season. Stairs down were very sturdy and while we had to keep an eye on the kids, the 3/4 year olds were able to safely navigate themselves up and down. Mentioning this because I found this helpful in other previous reviews :)

nice host, he developed a nice campground , the creek was a fun place to relax , overall I think it was good. also there is a water spigot at the campground which makes it easy to wash dishes, and also a bathroom, so easy to go when you need to. I heard peacocks and roosters and saw some owls at night , so there are a few wild animal noises, if you enjoy that sort of thing. Currently it is wildfire season in September, so no open fires , but we did cook with a propane grill , so we were happy and got to eat our smores , if you are looking for a quick getaway , this could be it.

We had the most incredible time at Jerry’s property, Sunset Villa! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had discovered a hidden gem. The setting is absolutely magical – wild peacocks and roosters roam freely, adding so much charm and character to the experience. The highlight for us was definitely the mountain-fed creek, which was refreshing, peaceful, and the perfect spot to relax and reconnect with nature. Jerry is a wonderful host who clearly puts a lot of care into maintaining the property, and it shows in every detail. If you’re looking for a camping spot that feels both adventurous and serene, this is it. One tip: bring water shoes! The creek is amazing to explore, but you’ll definitely enjoy it more with the right footwear. We can’t recommend Sunset Villa enough – it’s an unforgettable escape, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Weekend Trip to The Yuba Yurt

The Yuba Yurt was everything we wanted! The Yurt itself was great! It was very cozy and inviting, we were able to make ourselves right at home. We did encounter a frog or 2 but they were more than happy to be relocated. We were able to cook ourselves breakfast and dinner with ease thanks to the well stocked kitchen and outdoor grill. While the grill is small and a bit flimsy it definitely does the job! My wife got to enjoy a soak in the outdoor tub and enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with the location. If you follow the directions as provided you shouldn’t have any issue finding the Yurt. 10/10 will be back!

My husband, son (3) and I really loved our stay on Terry’s land! We stayed at campsite 3 and it was perfect for us. It was private but still close enough to the river/bathrooms. We got super lucky and had the river to ourselves one day. Terry and his family are so kind that they leave chairs set up for use by the river so you don’t have to lug your stuff & his son even brought us down a lighter when we forgot ours. The land itself is stunning. The river goes on and on. The water is perfectly cold for these hot summers days and there are so many critters on the land. Can’t wait to come back in the future!

Beautiful quiet spot on a river, would recommend! Terry and his wife Erin were great hosts. We loved unplugging, but be warned there was no cell service at our site (#2) and an SUV/ all wheel drive is required to get to sites near the river and the swimming hole. The hosts graciously shuttled our things to and from our site since we drive a sedan, but if being able to come and go from your site keep that in mind.

I LOVED this spot. It was private and somewhat quiet. There are roosters and peacocks on the land and in the area, but their noise was very relaxing all day long. I brought my furry boys with me, although my big boy was very vocal about me being too far from him at times, there were other dogs in the area being vocal themselves, so it felt like home in a way. Jerry was very nice. He dropped by to make sure everything was alright and pointed out all the accommodations and understood the anxiety my dog projected when he was there. I felt embarrassed, but Jerry assured my it was A OK If there is a time I need to get away and be alone with my boys, I really hope to come back.

I took my 6yo son for a mommy-son weekend camping trip and we both wished we never had to leave. The stargazing was magical, the views from and privacy at site 4 were exactly what I was wishing they would be. Floating in the swimming hole, gold panning, and rock scrambling to the old mining cave were great activities. Terry taught us about freshwater ecology and showed us artifacts of the local indigenous people on site. This is a very special place, with very special hosts. We had a fabulous weekend at Strange Ranch. Others have summed up the logistics pretty well so I won’t repeat those things. Please do read the description and Terrys thoughtfully prepared instructions…they will make your experience much smoother. This spot is truly special and Terry and Erin make it all the more so. They are gifted stewards of the land and we would definitely return to spend time here. The river, the stars, the fire pit next to the river, the mine, the amenities they provide…just all top notch!
