An hour outside of San Francisco, Livermore gives campers Bay Area wilderness. Golfing, boating, and fishing await at Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area, where campers can discover Shadow Cliffs Lake and surrounding hiking trails. Nearby, private gated sites provide water, sewer, and electric hookups for RV camping. Head east to Anthony Chabot Regional Park to traverse the Skyline and Cascade hiking trails, or secure a boat rental for a day on Lake Chabot. Pitch a tent or park the RV at the park’s public campground, or stargaze from a nearby private campground with glamping tents and RV campsites, as well as amenities like hot showers, laundry facilities, picnic tables, and access to private fishing creeks. Just 15 minutes south of Livermore is Del Valle Regional Park, a hot spot for mountain biking and windsurfing on Lake Del Valle. It’s also the gateway to the Ohlone Wilderness, a remote equestrian and off-grid hiking destination.
