Clear Lake Campground is a small, vintage RV and tent campground, established in the 1950s. Camp right on Cache Creek, the only outlet of Clear Lake. The campground offers fishing, kayaking, and boating right from Camp. A car or boat is required to get to Clear Lake. For lake fishing, Redbud Park, Highlands Park and Austin Park are all within a ten minute drive from Camp. Austin Park also has a playground and swimming beach.
The park offers rustic charm with great fishing and bird watching right from your campsite. We have a boat launch for your kayak, canoe or motor boat and we have canoe and kayak rentals. Cool off in the small pool. Challenge your family to a ping pong tournament or corn toss game.
Lake County guests enjoy stunning vistas, world-class wines, the largest freshwater lake in California, the cleanest air in the US and endless outdoor activities. Surrounded by a 140-acre privately owned nature preserve on two sides, you'll relish in abundant wildlife sightings and the serenity of nature, away from the crowds.
You'll have access to filtered drinking water from a hose and spigot, along with breathtaking mountain views and almost complete privacy, as vehicle traffic is minimal, limited to ours and our neighbors', which is set back from the pasture but partially visible. This space can accommodate a maximum of 15 vehicles, with an option for overflow parking for larger parties.
This is the perfect spot to host a private group camp where you can enjoy nature while being close to town. This is NOT the place to throw your alcohol fueled party or bring any sort of guns. We are about 7 minutes South of Middletown proper. We do have neighbors so noise is acceptable until 9pm on weekdays and 11pm on weekends.
We provide compost, recycling, and trash options, and it's ESSENTIAL to use the correct receptacle. Please note that our portion of the property is home to horses, dogs, and chickens, which you will briefly pass through before entering your fully fenced pasture. However, your rented pasture is not fully fenced from our neighbor's property.

All cabins have access to coin operated hot showers. we are a bring your own bedding facility, All cabin guests need to bring their own linens and pillows as there is no linen service in the area. Cabins are booked for weekly stays Saturday to Saturday from mid June thru mid August. Nightly stays are available early season, late season or if we have openings two weeks out from arrival date during high season.

Camping at it’s best! We offer 38 campsites plus 1 RV full hook-up (30amp) site, each with its own fire pit, table and water. The campsites are nestled in a beautiful natural setting of oaks and pines, and are spread out all around the grounds with many lakefront and lake view sites. Some sit back with more privacy, but all sites offer easy access to the lake. RVs and trailers are welcome and many sites are roomy enough to back right in. We follow the same weekly booking for most of our camps during high season, and do nightly early and late season. All camps are by reservation, so please call for availability.

We took a pre-school class camping at Tyler’s place! We really had a great time. The kitchen and bathroom worked great even though we had close to 30 people at max. The donkeys and cows were a huge hit. The property provided plenty of space to roam and explore so the kids had a great time. The hike to the creek was a bit more intense than we realized but the creek itself was great! Just a very big climb back to home. Overall both the kids and the adults had a spectacular time and we plan to come again

We had an amazing time at this fantastic campground! The location is beautiful, super private and peaceful, with lovely sunsets and sunrises. The stars at night were spectacular with no light pollution. Plenty of space for our group of four families to spread out, and the kids had a great time and loved the donkeys and Highland cows.
It was very helpful having a fridge, toilet/shower, gas fire, and camp stove on site. Tyler, the owner, was very helpful and welcoming. He met us when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing, family-friendly place to camp!

It’s eclectic! Built in the 50s, this place has that retro charm that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. My 20-year-old son, my soul-dog, and I spent Labor Day weekend here, and that little dipping pool was a total lifesaver in the brutal heat.
We brought our trusty popup camper from the 90s (no AC—she’s a vintage gal), so we went full MacGyver with a shade cover, a napping pad, and two “box” fans. Worked like a charm for a solid nap. When we weren’t pretending to be human popsicles, we played ping pong, cornhole, and enjoyed the slower pace. Walmart, gas, and food right across the street made it super convenient.
The highway is close, but it didn’t bother us at all—kind of like grown-up white noise. I’m also terrified of the dark, but here it felt just right: dark enough for an insane star show, but not so dark I thought Bigfoot was lurking.
Fishing was the main reason I booked this place, and it delivered. Each site shares a ramp with one other, small but perfect for casting a line or tying up a paddle board. It’s made for relaxing. I did spot a few teenagers looking bored, but I think they were just in the “too cool for fun” stage.
Lisa was wonderful—helpful, welcoming, and full of history about the place. We had no issues at all, and I’ll definitely be back!

We had such a wonderful stay at Tyler’s campground while celebrating a birthday with family! Tyler was an above-and-beyond host—so responsive, helpful, and thoughtful. The natural spring water throughout the property was so fresh and delicious, and we all loved meeting Banjo and Jenny, the donkeys, who greeted us with excited heehaws when we arrived.
When we realized we forgot a coffee grinder, Tyler came to the rescue, which made our mornings that much better. The waterfall was incredible, especially in the hot and dry weather—it was refreshing and absolutely worth the trek down, ripe blackberry bushes lined the trail halfway down providing a delightful pick-me-up.
We’d love to come back. Thank you, Tyler, for making our stay so special!

One of the best places for family or friends to gather. The campsite is private and peaceful, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Tylar is a lovely guy—don’t hesitate to talk with him because he responds quickly and clearly to any questions. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at WCR! Great place for a group (we were eight). So quiet and peaceful, far from civilization, that you can truly enjoy stargazing. The facilities were great (who doesn't appreciate a full fridge with an ice maker while camping), and we all loved hanging out with the donkeys. Easy to prepare meals for a big group, and appreciated having both gas and charcoal grills.The "casita" on the property that Tyler built is great, with kitchen space (toaster!), bathroom, shower, and a hangout area.
Tyler was so responsive to any messages and provided a cell phone at the space, should you have any questions.
Definitely don't rely on GPS. Tyler's driving instructions in his message were key; it's a windy way up to the ranch, even with all of the signage for WCR that Tyler has posted. Be cautious and take your time when arriving after dark, given the windy nature of the roads.

Peaceful with great birdwatching, a fun little pool, catfish & bass fishing and a games area where we played ping-pong & volleyball. The restrooms were clean and the RV hookups easy. Very nice camp spot for larger groups. Enjoyed the quiet space, nature feel, and amenities on site: plenty parking, fridge/freezer, toilet, shower, food prep area. The hike to the flowing creek is a bit challenging - suggest 4wd vehicle, but well worth it. We frolicked an afternoon through the creek with water shoes picking blackberries with our kids.

We have enjoyed our stay at this campground along Cache Creek. The sites are well shaded, level and spacious. Full hookups, clean restrooms, refreshing pool (around 3-4 ft deep), playground, pier, and nice common areas make it a great place to relax and enjoy. It is in a convenient location but remains more private. Sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Wood is available for purchase. Definitely recommend.

Lisa is a wonderful campsite host. The location right on Cache Creek is really quite special as is the small docks for water access from your own campsite. The site is good, though it's a little tight in terms of space between sites. Also, be aware that the southernmost sites can be a bit noisy with the roadway nearby.

Very nice site. Sadly the creek was dry but it was to be expected. Bathroom were super clean. Very nice to have filtered water available on site . Brand new fire pit with propane ( we left a grill so other can cook over it :) ). It’s a very quiet space , can’t hear anything but nature and it’s a huge site !!
