A laidback outdoor getaway awaits at this Central Coast gem.
As the Big Sur coast comes to an end around San Simeon, the next town down is Cambria. This small seaside community is known for its Monterey pines and proximity to Hearst Castle, a U.S. National Historic Landmark that’s part of Hearst San Simeon State Park. It’s a great spot for RVers looking for a relaxing stay where you can surf, fish, go beachcombing at Moonstone Beach, discover nature trails at Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, explore the rugged shores of Harmony Headlands State Park, or visit wineries in Paso Robles. Cambria sits almost exactly between San Francisco and Los Angeles, about four hours from each, and a few RV parks can be found along Highway 1, with more along Highway 101 in Paso Robles. Many offer full hookups, and those inland have amenities such as pools. Cambria enjoys mild temperatures year-round with rain in the winter.
