Directly east of California’s Mojave National Preserve, south of Las Vegas, and west of Flagstaff, the Arizona town of Golden Valley is an ideal spot to camp if you want easy access to many of the most popular areas for outdoor adventure in the southwestern United States. Golden Valley camping is plentiful, mostly on private land where campers are likely to find privacy and wide-open spaces. Options range from stretches of desert with room for a single tent or RV to pet-friendly ranches with RV sites and potable water. Some allow campfires, ideal for keeping warm on cool desert nights, though you may want to keep the lights to a minimum to take advantage of the fantastic stargazing opportunities that a visit to this part of the country affords.
