The more we fell in love with the peace and quiet of the desert, the fresh air, and the breathtaking view of the stars at night, the more we wanted to share our oasis with others. We love camping and wanted to be surrounded by others who love it as much as we do! We know some people prefer pitching a tent and complete solitude while others prefer a getaway with a really comfy bed and all the comforts of home! Whether you prefer to camp and would like hundreds of acres to yourselves or you would prefer to glamp in our private 80-acre tiny house village, we are here for you! Choose your adventure! Learn more about this land: Our land is surrounded by gorgeous mountain views and natural desert landscape. With plenty of surrounding vacant land and walking paths to explore, you will never get bored of the scenery. Get away from neighbors and stretch out as you'll have acres all to yourself. As if the daytime views aren't breathtaking enough, the sunsets light up the sky in cotton candy to bright tangerine hues and magnify the beauty of the mountains. The night sky sparkles with stars and constellations as we are a dark sky community with very minimal light pollution for miles. The sounds of the desert and wildlife help you to get the deepest sleep as there is very little man made noise in our area. You can hike, dirt bike, bring your off-road vehicles, explore our property and rock hound for as many quartz as you can carry! You may even catch a glimpse of some wild horses, cows, bulls, birds, hawks, jackrabbits, and roadrunners! Nearby attractions include Keeylocko Cowtown (self proclaimed historic town just acres away with a old western vibe and bar), Kitt Peak Observatory, Saguaro National Park, Old Tucson, and Downtown Tucson. If you are new to camping, we can also help provide you with some of the necessities you may have forgotten for a small additional fee (chairs, water, tents, blankets etc). We encourage you to ditch your phone and enjoy nature while you are here. You wont want to miss these views! ** Please let us know if you do not have 4-wheel drive and will be towing a trailer, if you have large RV, or a car that doesn’t manage well on dirt roads. Subaru's, SUV, Trucks, and similar vehicles will be totally fine. Standard passenger cars should be fine but use caution and you should be comfortable driving dirt roads. Low clearance vehicles or trailers bigger than 16 ft should not book our site. The county typically grades our roads in October, but at this time they have not been repaired. We will update our profile once the county repairs our roads. ___ Come stay a while on our earth-building based-artists' retreat homestead! We host people with all sorts of passions, and provide a space for growth, creativity, and memory making! Owned and operated by a nationally renowned artist and earth-building expert, Richard Ward, and managed by longtime nomad and entrepreneur Thea Margaret. There are thousands of opportunities to tour, learn, create, and get your hands dirty! The Homestead is directly next to hundreds of acres of BLM land, full of hills with an astounding history, hiking trails on ancient coral reefs, and wildlife abound! It comes with a comfortable, full-sized bed with a memory foam mattress, an outdoor kitchen, a refrigerator, seating area, and incredible views. Improved tent sites: Includes a platform to pitch your tent, access to camp kitchen, and a communal fire pit. "Primitive" tent site: It is secluded from the rest of the commune, nestled among the creosote and Ocotillo with stunning night skies, mountain views, and wildlife viewing opportunities galore! You have the option of visiting the main property or not see anyone at all during your stay. All sites include access to our shower house with on-demand hot water, community space with Wi-Fi and a composting commode and some pretty stellar views of its own. It is not recommended for low-clearance vehicles or trailers over 16 ft as it can be tight and a bit rocky. • We are a nudist/naturalist/clothing-optional friendly community. There is no requirement to participate, but please know that others may and to be respectful of everyone. • Pets that are people and animal-friendly are welcome. For people with pets, do be mindful that we are off-grid in the wild of the desert and have every creature imaginable wild on the property. Including coyotes, javelina, rattlesnakes, scorns, and bobcats. You are responsible for the care and cleanup of your pets. • We are an 18+ property and can not host children. • We are a pack-in-pack-out leave no trace campground! We do not have septic or flush toilets on the property. We use a composting toilet system and do require any self-contained units to have black and grey water tanks. Overview

Arizona is full of natural wonders, from the Grand Canyon to Saguaro National Park, with ample outdoor fun ranging from mountain biking to horseback riding. Much of the state is occupied by the Mojave, Sonoran, and Chihuahuan deserts, but start exploring and you'll quickly discover that Arizona is more than just jackrabbits and cacti—there are lakes, rivers, mountains, forests, and miles of hiking trails. It's also a great place for sleeping under the stars, and while parts of Arizona can get a bit too hot for comfort in summer, those same places offer pleasant camping weather throughout much of the year.

Where to go

Northern Arizona

While northern Arizona's best-known attraction is the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, there’s plenty more to see and do, from visiting Lake Powell on the Colorado River to backcountry tent camping among the ponderosa pines in the Coconino National Forest, Prescott National Forest, and Kaibab National Forest. Sedona, just south of Flagstaff, also makes a great base for hiking among Arizona's Red Rocks or swimming in Oak Creek Canyon’s Slide Rock State Park.

Western Arizona

Dubbed Arizona's "West Coast," this part of the state offers all sorts of outdoor activities, much of which revolve around the Colorado River. The town of Yuma near the southern border is a popular spot, featuring an old Wild West prison and serving as a good base for visiting the Cibola National Wildlife Refuge. Attractions further north include Lake Havasu State Park, where you can swim, camp, or even check out the 19th-century London Bridge. Further north, the massive Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers year-round camping and easy access to two lakes.

Central Arizona

While it's easy to associate central Arizona with Phoenix sprawl, this region offers a lot for outdoorsy types, all within a short drive of the city. Popular spots for outdoors lovers include the Superstition Mountains in the Tonto National Forest, Lost Dutchman State Park, and the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. If you're interested in archaeology, the Montezuma Castle National Monument is also worth a visit.

Southern Arizona

Southern Arizona is full of Wild West spirit, with a mix of historic ghost towns and scenic desert landscapes, plus plenty of forests, particularly in the Chiricahua Mountains. Must-visit parks include Saguaro National Park and Catalina State Park—both just outside Tucson. If it gets too hot, make like a local and head to Patagonia Lake State Park, a prime spot to swim and cool off from the Arizona heat.
