Just off the beaten path, but yet easy access to the interstate, Gambel Field is 14 acres of grass field with ample camper parking. Bordering on the the state trust land and the Hassayampa River bottom the view extends for miles. Campfires and grills are allowed only in the sand parking area, never on the grass. We also have a strict NO GLASS policy. We are very dog friendly.

No worries I’m from NY and I lived care free for 2 years here, off-roading with my 14 year old. There are two stores that are walking distance if you need supplies. But there’s a variety of things that you can do here. Sometimes people go shooting deep in the mountains you can hear them out there. I am a respectful cannabis smoker and I allow any responsible respectful use in proper manner as well as alcohol use. Please call and ask if you have questions.

Look out for special events like a chili cook off and the Gold Miner Distillery doing a whiskey taste testing. This is the roping capital of America so you will be surrounded by bull riders, cowboys and miners - for real! Wickenburg is 10 minutes away with restaurants and everything cowboy. This Historic Hotel is a giant piece of Arizona history.

Ideal for anything from ATV and jeep trips to Crown King, camping, hunting in nearby public lands, visiting the area's mining and native history, or just to spend some quality time in the Sonoran Desert. This private pad is large enough for a few RVs and all the toys. 4WD vehicles are recommended, especially during poor weather. Winters at this 2600 foot elevation can bring a few inches of snow. Summers put on the seasonal monsoon show, Spring and Fall are always enjoyable with cooler nights. There are the usual desert critters to beware of: bark scorpions, rattlesnakes of all kinds, mountain lions on the prowl, a some poisonous spiders. Other abundant wildlife is also present: foxes, skunks, javelina, bobcats, mule deer, ringtail cats, raccoons, coyotes, and many kinds of birds. You'll likely also see herds of wild burros and some cattle grazing nearby. Target practice is common in the area and even allowed at this site. There is a large stone firepit for guests to light campfires, firewood may be provided but not guaranteed. A large trash can is available on site for guests, please use it.
