Leave all your bells and whistles at home when coming to Kalaloch Campground because whatever ya need, they got it!

Some say it’s the best beach camping on the West coast, so prepare yourself for some camp luxe. Sunsets to die for, nearby hikes, and stretches of beach to explore are only the tip of the iceberg at Kalaloch. They have all your camping needs on lock with get this--a nearby gas station and store (told ya). Make sure to get your spot booked if you’re visiting June through September. At all other times of the year, walk-ups are accepted.

Just got back from Kalaloch campground. It's super close to the beach, which is indeed what makes it so stunning. However, the sites are super close together. The tent behind us was talking until 11 pm (past quiet hours) and I could hear every single word. The bathrooms do not accommodate the number of people at the campsite and in these times of COVID there was no soap provided. Ick! If you don't need to be right on the beach, check out Bogachiel up the road. We stopped there on the way to a hike and it was calmer, better facilities, and cleaner all around. For us, Kalaloch just wasn't worth the hype.

An absolutely stunning place to camp! No matter where your site is, you are only steps from the beach. A lot of the sites are pretty small, but if you get an ocean view there's not much to complain about. Ocean view sites seemed to be much windier than sites located back in the woods, so keep that in mind. There are bathrooms with flush toilets, and there are water spigots and dish washing areas as well. Reservations are accepted throughout the summer, but book early!

Of all the campgrounds we visited on our nearly three-month-long road trip, Kalaloch ranks amongst the very best. Perched on a bluff overlooking the ocean, you get to wake up and fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves. Spot E6 has to be one of the best camp spots on the West coast. We spent hours sitting there, watching the whale spouts rise above the ocean's surface. If you can, try to reserve in advance! In terms of amenities, each loop at the campground has a clean bathroom with running water. Be sure to explore the tide pools and intertidal rocks at the nearby beaches (Ruby Beach was our favorite.) Also, if you're hungrier than you planned for, the lodge just down the road has great food, especially the veggie burger!

Get there early to snag one of the beach-facing sites!

We stayed here Sept. 2016 with our 1 year old son, "W." It was wonderful! We had a nice large site that allowed for W to explore safely. He loved the beach and the campground is close to other great beaches, including Ruby Beach. We will definitely go back!

I had Ocean view and loved it, if you schedule early they are easy to come by. Very clean place. Good privacy between spots. Had a great time here last fall. The only downside is there is NO public or park showers.

We had a really great spot, A20's, right in front of the ocean. We booked it a few months in advance, but it was well worth the planning. Really amazing to be right next to the open ocean like that, but still in the woods.

For site groups A-F, reserve early and search for the smallest sites - this is definitely car camping, but it's possible to avoid the heaviest RV areas and find a secluded site with beach access.
