WE CANNOT HOST TENTERS UNTIL TEMPS WARM UP IN EARLY SPRING BECAUSE THE BATHROOM IS CLOSED DURING WINTER. Located just east of Fayetteville exit 49 off I-95, is our lovely, quiet, and secluded 30 acre tract of Southern Yellow pines that we purchased 11 years ago. Since we love camping so much we decided to carve out 15 campsites for other campers to enjoy. Most of our campsites are gravel and level. We have a couple of sites that are grass for tenters. We have only site 1 that has full hookups. All the other sites are boondocking.

We carved our 43 acre horse farm out of wild swampy land in 2007 and finished the barndeminium in 2008. We started with Hipcamp 5 years ago & enjoy meeting new people. My husband is retired from the Air Force and works full time doing the chores. I worked full time as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, but I just retired in May of 2024. I have a side hobby making homemade jams, pickles and flavored goat cheese spreads. We love the peacefulness of where we live...although the weather chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks, goats and horses do get a little loud come feeding time. We have different sites, please read each description or message me before you book a stay. All the sites have an 8pm latest check in unless you've stayed with us before. We are constantly looking for ways to upgrade or make our farm more fun to visit.

The Pine Tree Retreat

Learn more about this land: 104 acres of private land for your enjoyment. This site would be best suited for tent campers at the moment due to no bath houses or electricity for the time being. Come enjoy your stay bring a kayak or canoe and float around the 6 acres of ponds and catch some of the many bass, bream or crappie that occupy the waters. The property is located 7 miles off highway 74/76 in Whiteville and 10 miles to Lake Waccamaw, 32 miles to Ocean Isle Beach, 45 miles to Wilmington, 36 miles to North Myrtle Beach. The road is grassy/dirt I would recommend a suv or truck for your stay. When there’s no burn ban in place or lack of rain i do try to keep firewood on-site but I recommend checking with me before your stay. Reserve your spot and experience the peace and quiet of the outdoors and listen to the turkeys and watch the deer feed in early mornings while the sun rises. The Fern Getaway

If you are here for the beach, the closest beach and also our favorite is Cherry Grove Beach, only a 30 minute drive. There are a few kayak rental companies we can connect you to if you'd like and we know all the local spots for adventure, food and shopping. Pick a hammock and relax listening to the birds, we also have an outdoor kitchen to prepare food and community firepits to gather around. We want this to be a relaxing getaway, to connect with yourself, others and nature.

What a great little campgrounds on the Little Pee Dee River! Its a State Park with a family atmosphere. I felt welcomed and safe, and the hosts and also Ranger Emily were all so great. I went so that I could get my new skoolie out for a spin. I figured a place where I knew no one would be perfect, quiet. It was quiet. It was perfect. But I left knowing everyone camping around me! And I'm gonna put this out there. Its not something I talk about, but in today's world with more POC traveling, walking into the unknown is frightening, maybe even dangerous. I never felt an ounce of fear or discomfort there, in spite of the fact that there was no one there who looked like me. I didn't even notice til I got back home. I can't wait to go back.

We loved our stay at Little Pee Dee! There is usually a lake, but at the time at that we were there, they had drained it for repair work on the local dam. It's still a beautiful view. There are 50 campsites, about half have electricity and all have water. There is a dump station and a dumpster located at the entrance to the campground. The roads around the camp sites itself are a little rough, but if you're going slow you hardly notice. Cell service for Verizon was great and consistent at about 2-3 bars for 4G LTE. AT&T cell service got 1-2 bars for 4G. Unfortunately, T-Mobile was non-existent. We'd definitely come back!
