Trout, muskie, grayling, salmon…they’re all here! Rent a boat on the lake or bring your own. You might even spot a moose on your way to the boat ramp! If you’re not a fisherman (or enjoying a partnering fisherman’s bounty), you can soak in the peace of being on the water and the ample opportunities for viewing wildlife, not to mention plenty of other wilderness activities. Just don’t plan on making business calls while you’re there; cell phone reception is limited at the site.

A microwave, mini fridge, propane grill allow for simple meals to be prepared. The Little Cabin offers a mountainside basecamp, getaway, vacation or over night travel stop 30 miles from LARAMIE, WY, I80, WY 130, US 287 and Co 125. 2.5 miles from Woodslanding on WY 230. Depending on the time of year there are various outdoor activities nearby to enjoy. Hiking, Fishing, Snow Shoeing, Cross Country skiing. There are Mountain Lakes, Plains Lakes, the Big Laramie River, Snowy Range Down Hill Ski Area all with in a 60 mile radius. There is public access to the Big Laramie River across the highway where you can fish or walk the public access path that runs along side it. Saratoga, WY, natural Hot Springs are about 90 miles West and makes for a beautiful drive. Snowy Range Mountain offers a down hill ski area, trails for hiking, cross country skiing and snow shoeing. Star gazing from the Little Cabin or Gazebo is amazing. There is no light pollution which allows a view of the stars some have never seen.

If you do not arrive with the appropriate toilet amenities or are seen using the restroom outside, you will be told to leave the property immediately and will not be refunded. There is a liability waiver copied at the bottom, by booking you are acknowledging and agreeing to that contract. One of the first things you'll notice is our friendly horses, who roam the property freely and are likely to come greet you during your stay. You'll have the opportunity to interact with these majestic animals, feeding them, haltering them, brushing them, and even cleaning their stalls. It's a hands-on experience that will deepen your appreciation for these incredible creatures. Next, you'll have the chance to get up close and personal with our bison. These massive animals are a sight to behold, and you'll have the opportunity to feed them treats, move their grazing pasture, and ensure they have fresh water. It's a rare chance to connect with these iconic animals in a meaningful way. And let's not forget about our chickens! You'll help feed and water them, collect eggs (you'll go home with a half dozen, with more available for purchase), and clean their coop. It's a fun and educational experience that will give you a new appreciation for where your food comes from. We are located 4 miles from Routt National Forest. You'll arrive at the ranch headquarters and we will either take you to the sheep wagon or give you directions to it. The sheep wagon is nestled in an Aspen grove (on 56 acres) with a creek just 12 feet away. From there, you are 1/4 mile away from the national forest and the wilderness. There are thousands of acres to explore, either by hiking , biking or horseback riding. You are also just minutes away from great trout fishing lakes and streams. While here ask about ranch tours and visiting with our sheep, horses, cows and chickens! There will be cattle or sheep on the property with the sheep wagon. Please note that cell phone service is very limited in the area.

They had spent the previous decade in Rwanda running the Rwandan National Cycling Team. Jock’s boyhood dream has always been to return to the ranch and share its special gifts with friends and guests from around the world. The YL Ranch has been in the Boyer family since 1905. Jock and Kimberly look forward to welcoming you with their own unique style of warm Wyoming hospitality. The YL is open year-round and can accommodate up to 25-30 guests in summer and 20 in winter.
