What is the best time of year to camp in Big Sur?

The area is popular with mild weather year-round, but the best time of year for camping in Big Sur is in spring, from March to May, or in fall, between September and November. During these shoulder seasons, the scenery is at its most spectacular despite the small possibility of rain. Spring visits are also rewarded with colorful wildflowers in bloom and fewer crowds than seen in the peak summer season.
